THAT'S A WRAP for Season 2. I will be taking a break for the summer (because I'm a Mamapreneur too and I practice what I preach). Season 3 will be back in August of 2023 with weekly episodes jam-packed with insights and tips. Until then, come say hello over on Instagram - you can find me @HappyMamaWellness.------------------For generations, society has painted motherhood as a time of endless joy and beauty - from pregnancy, through postpartum and beyond. This podcast is shattering that image by normalizing conversations about real motherhood. The messiness AND the beauty. The joy AND the self-sacrifice. I am your host, Lynn Turcotte-Schuh, Sea Lion Trainer turned Mama Mentor and I'd like to welcome you to Redefining Motherhood.
Each episode will be packed with inspiration, reminders that you are not alone in your struggles and actionable ideas to help you start redefining your own motherhood experience. My goal: for you to know that it is OK to love your kids AND NOT love motherhood. My mission: to help you break through society's expectations and redefine your own experience so you can truly love your day-to-day life as much as you love your kids.Reheat your coffee (or Chai) for the 18th time today, grab your earbuds, plop your kiddo in front of Sesame Street (or Dino Dana if you're in our house) and join the movement to Redefine Motherhood...our way.

Ep 48 - Navigating the Fourth Trimester: Insights from a Postpartum Doula with Tasha Cofer
I'll never forget the day I brought my daughter home. I was super excited, super scared and really overwhelmed all at once. As the hours went by and the days started melding together, I struggled to get sleep, to feed her and to take care of myself. I felt so alone in the world and unsure of how to navigate this whole new season of my life.
If I had only known then about Postapartum Doulas and all the support they can offer, things might have been different. That's why, even though I love teaching Childbirth and helping families prepare for the arrival of their baby, I am even more passionate and intentional about supporting Moms on the other side of birth. Quite often, once baby comes, Mom gets forgotten...and in a time when she really needs to be seen, heard and understood the most.
That's why I am so excited for today's guest. She is a Postpartum Doula, a Mampreneur and Mama to a toddler. She has such incredible insight and tips. Whether you are expecting your first child or completely done having babies, there is something here for you. What we touch upon at the core is the universal lack of support we get as Moms and what we can do to change that.

Ep 47 Using Challenging Times to Build Stronger Connections with Our Kids - FB Live Replay with Dr. Jessica Larson
This Facebook Live with Jessica Larson of Mama-Be Self Care was recorded during the lockdown at the beginning of COVID but the insight we share about connecting with our kids applies no matter what season we are in.
I have always seen parenting as a relationship, not a strategy. That's why I don't practice or preach any particular parenting style. Each of us, as Moms, is different and each of our children is different. In my opinion, being successful as a parent means understanding your child's basic needs and what fills their cup. Building an honest and authentic connection. Nurturing your relationship so it feels mutually respectful and safe.
Lockdown may have afforded us an opportunity to openly discuss the challenges, stresses and struggles of motherhood in a way that may have felt shameful or guilt-ridden before COVID. What it did NOT do is change anything about the way I approach parenting. I have always been focused on the connection and the relationship and I can't wait for you to hear the tips and insights shared in this Facebook Live Replay.
One little note before we get started - the At Home Mamas Club is now known as the Happy Mama Wellness Community AND is still open for any Mama out there looking for support!

I make the time
As a Mom, my time is limited. And so is my mental capacity. This podcast is one of the things I make time for. I feel seen and get inspired with each episode. And I love the practical tips that are mixed in that help my days go a little easier. I cannot recommend this podcast, or Lynn, enough!
Helping me create space me while still being a mom
Lynn Turcotte-Schuh is seriously amazing - I love how much wisdom she has to share! You can tell she's on a mission to help moms who feel alone in the trenches of motherhood. The practical tips and mindset shifts have been a total game-changer for me, and learning about filling our "control and connection cups" has helped prevent giant meltdowns in our house for both myself and my kids. Motherhood, isn’t an easy journey to be on, but hearing how I am not the only one that struggles helps. Lynn gives great advice and sometimes the kick in the pants I need to trust myself and I give myself well deserved rest, too. This podcast is a must-listen for any mom trying to juggle it all!
