My Amazing Experiences Receiving & Giving Reiki

My Amazing Experiences Receiving & Giving Reiki

In today's episode of the Deep Rooted Healing podcast, I open up and share my journey with Reiki so far, both receiving Reiki from multiple practitioners and offering Reiki to clients as a Reiki Master for the past 6 months in my private practice. Reiki is so beautiful and inspiring as a healing therapy to me and I am so honored to be able to share it with people to support them.

Reiki is a gentle hands-on healing therapy that originated in Japan that is non-invasive and has no side effects or contraindications. It is a therapy that can help calm and relax the body to support healing on multiple levels-emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. Reiki is practiced all around the world and is offered in hospitals, hospices, nursing homes and private practices. Growing research is documenting the benefits of Reiki for a variety of health conditions.

Emma Freeman is a spiritual artist, poet, Licensed Massage Therapist and Reiki Master in Wisconsin. She is a highly sensitive person and sober. This podcast is a record of her own unfolding spiritual journey. You can learn more about her and her work at www.deep-rooted-healing.com.

Ep 37: Standing in a New Doorway: A Poem for Navigating Transitions in Life

In today's episode of the Deep Rooted Healing podcast, I share some reflections on the transition I'm in the middle of at the moment from identifying as a visual artist and moving into identifying as a healing artist and all of the stickiness that is coming up for me. I also share a new poem I wrote called, "Standing in a New Doorway" which I wrote to help me process and express what I feel at the moment.

Ep 36: Burying Fabric Books as a Healing Creative Practice

Ep 36: Burying Fabric Books as a Healing Creative Practice

In this episode of the Deep Rooted Healing podcast, I talk about why I bury some of my fabric meditation books in the earth for 30 days and then dig them back up. I share how my intuition has guided me in different moments with this process, the serendipity of learning about the Tibetan Buddhist practice of earth terma, or "hidden treasures" that are buried in the earth for others to discover and learn spiritual wisdom from and how that connects to the burying book process. I also share what the books have been teaching me and how this 2.5 year ongoing creative practice has fundamentally shifted my approach to art making.

I started a free and open invitation for anyone to join in if they want to make and bury books. It is called, "The Buried Earth Book Project." You can learn more about it here: www.deep-rooted-healing.com/collaborations/buried-books I invite people to share their images and reflections on Instagram using the hashtag #buriedearthbookproject. You can search for that and see what others have been creating, if you like.

You can see images of my buried fabric meditation books here: www.deep-rooted-healing.com/art-projects

This practice is art therapy for me. It has been deeply healing and transformative and has helped return me to an intimate, loving connection and relationship with the earth and my soul.

Such a beautiful podcast!

So happy to have found this super interesting and thoughtful podcast. Emma is a wonderful host with such a calm, kind and super smart way about her. She gives her guests the room to really dive in and explore. I just love the pace of it all too. Such a great companion when I’m working on my own art practice (or making dinner ;)

Soulful Creative Journeying

Emma is a genuine gift. What she shares about art making, nature, poetry, and all the intricacies of being human in this great big experience of life is gentle, creative, soulful, and honest. At least once an episode I get chills from the way she tells stories... there is magic in the way she notices and brings attention to the small, simple moments.
