Maybe you’re in a new relationship now, and you want to know how to set your relationship up for success to make it last for years and years to come. Although we can agree humans are naturally social creatures, it is damn hard being in a relationship for years with the same person. Personalities change, arguments fester longer than they should, and your partner’s quirky ways that were once cute are suddenly making the hair on your neck stand.

Intimacy is hard. Communication gets even harder (probably because most of us suck at it), and yet, there are successful relationships and marriages that inspire us and restore our faith in the possibility of a shared life experience that can be beautiful.

Amazing advice!

Love Tom and Lisa! I’ve been struggling in my marriage and we are now going through a divorce! Which is tremendously tough especially with two twin toddlers of 3 years old. This podcast along with impact theory help me understand the process and importance of relationships and communication. Thank you so much! Forever grateful.

Great ideas and loving discussion, but…

Tom says “Like” wayyy too much. It gets on my nerves. He needs to express his thoughts more clearly and precisely. Maybe brainstorm what he thinks about a topic before going live on the show.

Great, as long as you can deal with the man being the boss

In most ways, I love the show. I have always had respect for the way Tom thinks, and Lisa is absolutely delightful. But the more I listen to the show, the more I see how paternalistic Tom is. He expresses that Lisa is so great (and I get every sense he adores her), and yet he thinks he can improve on everything she says, think about the concept more intellectually than she can, and that her way of thinking would be better if she thought more like him.
