    135. Why your thoughts could be costing you money with Lisa Canning

In this episode, I decided to record my time with my good friend, coach, cheerleader and returning podcast guest, Lisa Canning. In our chat, we decided to do a deep dive into mindset and how your thoughts could be costing you money in your business. We are in a weird and very uncertain economic time, and as business owners, this inspires uneasy feelings and often makes us pull back from reinvesting in our business. But it doesn't have to feel that way. This episode is for you if you're looking for opportunities to change your mindset, grow your business, and say goodbye to the scarcity mindset.
    About Lisa
Lisa Canning is a professionally trained mindset and life coach who loves helping women unlock what is holding them back from earning money in their businesses. A former HGTV personality with 15 years of experience in interior design, Lisa brings her knowledge of the design world, combined with mindset coaching, to help designers scale to their next level with empathetic cheerleading and strategic plans for optimal results. A mom of 9 children ages 13 and under, Lisa is an expert in creating excitement, energy, and action. Lisa has been featured on The Today Show, Hallmark Home and Family, The NY Times, Style At Home, and more.

Through the episode, we share some ways you can build your confidence and ensure that you thrive through this economic downturn. Lisa shared some useful introspective information that will help you look at your life as it pertains to money and get you comfortable and confident in looking for opportunities. So much of our success is in the mind, so it is vital to have a money-positive mindset if you want to run a successful business.

You have a choice in how you think. Thoughts about the economy and thoughts about your biz are all optional. How you think about the future and how you behave in the present, you have power! You are not powerless over how you react to any situation in your life. You are more powerful than you think you are.

Busting the myths behind full-service design - A Designer Meet-up Panel Ft. Mia Parres, Jaclyn Genovese & Carly Nemtean

This episode is the very first time we’ve ever shared a recording of a live event! What you’re about to tune into is a panel talk from the in-person Designer Meet-up we hosted on November 10 2022 in Toronto, Canada. I was joined by 3 amazing panelists and we focused on busting the myths behind offering full-service design. We get this question a lot - “What does offering full-service design mean?” So in this panel, we uncovered it all - the good, the bad, and the ugly!
    Meet the Panelists
Mia Parres Mia moved her love of set design to become an on-camera host and designer for HGTV Canada. She is currently a designer behind the scenes for Farmhouse Facelift on HGTV!

Jaclyn Genovese Jaclyn is the founder and principal designer of Spaces by Jacflash, a boutique design consulting firm. From her roots in fashion to her women’s wellness and entrepreneurial workshops, Jaclyn Genovese is not your average interior designer!

Carly Nemtean Meet Carly, founder, and CEO of The Collective Workspace, as well as Carriage Lane Design-Build. Carly’s craft and strategy have gained her many awards in the industry, including NKBA 30 under 30.
During the panel, we shared the realities of being a designer and of owning a business. We told some amazing stories that I hope you can take away and learn from.

Let your vision inform your business with Natasha Ho

Let your vision inform your business with Natasha Ho

In this episode I had the opportunity with the fantastic PR Manager turned marketing and growth strategist AND phenomenal businesswoman, Natasha Ho! She helps creative entrepreneurs cut back on their working hours in half while doubling their income - because we all deserve a little break and to have our businesses work FOR us. In this episode, we talk about mindset and skillset and how you want both to hone in on what you're going to do so that you can do it with joy, and passion, and make more money! About Natasha

Natasha Ho is a woman on a mission to help entrepreneurs rapidly grow their businesses to six figures and beyond without grinding longer, working harder, or doing all of the things. She helps entrepreneurs tap into playfulness to elevate what they sell and how they sell it, so they can create massive visibility, and consistent sales, and have a whole lot more fun.

Natasha wanted to crack the code on how to grow with more speed, simplicity, and joy for herself. So she studied and experimented with every marketing and sales strategy she could find.

What she discovered is the key to rapid sales growth: you have to take the uncomfortable leap before you think you’re ready. Sell first. That’s how she created Sell Out Offers. She’s used this method to sell out cooking lessons, retreats, consulting services, and grow her business to six figures in the first year while working 20 hours a week.
Through the episode we chat about her journey and how she's been able to bring forth all of the things she loves doing, like cooking, traveling, and hosting retreats, with her desire to help other entrepreneurs scale back their time commitment but still grow a business and an income! This episode is for you if you are tired of the constant hustle and want to take back some time for you to do the things you love without sacrificing the success of your business.
A Mantra to live by: Be bold play first and live free The way I approach everything in my life and in my business, I move toward things I desire with boldness. I always remember that play is most important. So play and have fun first.  And live life with freedom and joy!
