David Nickell is a a retired professor of philosophy and sociology and a former resident of what is now Land Between the Lakes. He was the sixth generation on their farm there, which was a land grant from the Revolutionary War.  TVA forced nearly a thousand families out for the LBL project. He lives on his maternal grandparent's farm now, which is about 20 miles north of LBL, still on the peninsula between the Cumberland and Tennessee Rivers.

Tiffany Justice is a wife and mom of four school-aged children. After serving four years on the School Board of the School District of Indian River County, Florida, she cofounded Moms for Liberty, a national nonprofit, nonpartisan organization fighting for the survival of America by unifying, educating, and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government. Founded in January of 2021, Moms for Liberty currently has 275 chapters in 44 states with over 115,000 active members.

Keith Harmon Snow is a writer, photographer and naturalist. This is his third program with me focused on rare cats of the world. In 1993 he exposed a high-level racket in Japan involving trade in endangered species.  Today we talk about tigers.

Eric Balken grew up in Salt Lake City, building a connection to Utah’s mountains, rivers, and deserts at a young age. In his youth, Eric volunteered with local non-profits gaining experience in public land surveys, membership outreach, and grassroots organizing. Eric has been deeply involved with Colorado River policy for the past decade, helping spearhead multiple research and advocacy initiatives at GCI. Eric has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Geography from the University of Utah and serves as an advisory on the Future of the Colorado Group

Joaquín Hortal is a biogeographer and communityecologist working at the Museo Nacional deCiencias Naturales (Natural History Museum) ofthe Spanish Scientific Council in Madrid. He alsocollaborates with the Centre for Ecology,Evolution and Environmental Changes of theUniversity of Lisbon, and the Department ofEcology of the Federal University of Goiás inBrazil, and Before he worked at the University ofthe Azores, University of Copenhagen and Imperial College London.He studies the effects of current and pastenvironmental conditions and ecological processeson the geographic patterns of biodiversity, therole of species niche and ecological interactionsin the organization of biological communities intime and space, and the use and misuse ofbiodiversity big data. He works with mosses, seedplants, vertebrates and insects, and has beenstudying the ecology and biogeography of dung beetles for more than 25 years.

Davis Mounger is the codirector of Tennessee Heartwood, a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to the protection and promotion of Tennessee's public lands.  He has worked on public lands issues since the 1990's.  He currently teaches high school and occasionally conducts forest watch workshops
