    David Nickell is a a retired professor of philosophy and sociology and a former resident of what is now Land Between the Lakes. He was the sixth generation on their farm there, which was a land grant from the Revolutionary War.  TVA forced nearly a thousand families out for the LBL project. He lives on his maternal grandparent's farm now, which is about 20 miles north of LBL, still on the peninsula between the Cumberland and Tennessee Rivers.

Founded in January of 2021, Moms for Liberty currently has 275 chapters in 44 states with over 115,000 active members.

He works with mosses, seedplants, vertebrates and insects, and has beenstudying the ecology and biogeography of dung beetles for more than 25 years.

the interview with jeff gibbs, the guy who made Planet of the Humans, is truly outstanding, inspirational, heartfelt, Real, though perhaps disturbing to some who also perhaps need disturbing
