    I’ll Leave You A Tune - Part 3

There’s no doubt that, for a tiny island nation at the bottom of the world, New Zealand does incredibly well on the world music stage. And a lot of our most successful artists are women - Lorde, of course, but also Benee, Kimbra, Ladyhawke, Bic Runga, Anika Moa, Gin Wigmore, Aldous Harding, Nadia Reid, Hollie Smith, Shona Laing, Jenny Morris - and Brooke Fraser

In part 3 of Resonate, we'll head into the studio during the recording sessions of Flags, speak to to the personnel who helped capture the songs, and also explore what empowers so many incredible female musicians here in Aotearoa

Join Brooke alongside the people that brought Flags to life: Boh Runga (Vocal Producer), Eric Robinson (Engineer), Joe Zook (Mixing) & Godfrey de Grut (Keyboard & String arrangements) - alongside Kim Boshier (Head of Sony Music New Zealand) & local artist Paige

Beautiful documentary podcast on one of my absolutely favorite albums in history

When I heard of this podcast I was so excited because Flags is not only my favorite Brooke Fraser album, it’s one of my all time favorite albums in history. This was a beauty experience to hear inside information I never knew about while listening to this podcast. I also enjoyed Brooke at the end referencing The Lord of Rings in a powerful way about not taking glory for yourself and quoting C.S. Lewis’ powerful words on originality. Beautiful doc for a beautiful and wonderful album for the ages.

There’s something in the “awkwardness” that makes us love you like we do! 🎵🎶☺️😂😜

I can’t even describe how thankful I am for Brooke and her music throughout the years! I’m from Costa Rica and I first heard of her when I was in high school around 2008. It was a crazy time and her music was something I could hold onto in the midst of uncertain times, happy times and basically all times! It is crazy how even now her songs still bring me back together too and remind me why I do what I do. I love how different the sounds , the instruments in every song are. It is one of my favorite parts of every song and album, listening to those little details in the music and lyrics. Thanks Brooke for such a wonderful gift you have and give to all of us with your passion, love and music!
