Michelle Ferrigno Warren is the president and CEO of Virago Strategies, a consulting firm for civic engagement campaigns impacting poor communities. The author of The Power of Proximity, she cofounded Open Door Ministries, a community development 501(c)(3) corporation in downtown Denver, to address poverty, addiction, and homelessness through social programs.
Michelle has been working in Christian community development for twenty-nine years utilizing her skills as an educator, worship leader, non-profit manager, public policy specialist, and faith-rooted activist. With policy expertise in economic justice and human service issues, she has served as advocacy and strategic engagement director for the Christian Community Development Association and done coalition work with the National Immigration Forum. Michelle is a senior fellow with the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Institute and adjunct faculty at Denver Seminary. 
Michelle's advocacy work has been featured in local Colorado markets like The Denver Post and Colorado Public Radio as well as national Christian and secular media outlets like The New York Times, The L.A. Times, PBS News Hour, Christianity Today, CBN, WORLD magazine, Sojourners, and numerous others. She holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Cedarville University and a master's in public administration from the University of Colorado. She and her husband live in Denver's Westside neighborhood and have three adult children.
