Season 2 Ep. 5 — All About Techwear with Corbin Coffey

Season 2 Ep. 5 — All About Techwear with Corbin Coffey

This week on the Retail Therapy Podcast, we were joined by Corbin, a YouTuber and Content Creator who was one of the first content creators in the techwear space. Techwear, while extremely difficult to define, derives from the expression of technical garments through functionality, typically through futuristic, dystopian design tropes.

In other words, techwear cobines futuristic and utilitarian aesthetics with technical performance and real-world-function.

That said, styles like workwear are utilitarian and could fall under the umbrella of Techwear, which is why the aesthetics are almost as important as the design philosphy itself.

In the episode, Corbin helped us define techwear, discussed his journey into the niche, and much more.

Absolutely the best style/fashion podcast out there. I have listened to retail therapy and the selective podcast at least 2-3 times through and through and each time I catch things I missed. Only thing I’d like is for the podcast to be more consistent because it is that good!

Well thought out and well presented

Each episode offers so much value in terms of how much information is present, but projected in a way where it feels like a casual chat with friends.
