The Church Is Shaking… But God Is Still Building

This week felt like a microcosm of the whole Church: moments of weakness, moments of courage, moments of confusion, and moments of hope. Creation Fest faces collapse, the Bishop of Sodor and Man loses his vote, a church rave divides a community, the Makin Review exposes painful failures, and yet — right in the middle of it all — a million-brick wall of answered prayer begins rising out of the ground. Young adults are turning to faith for healing, and the Royal Mail’s new Nativity stamps remind us that the light still shines. In this episode of Rev Dan’s Round Up, I walk through the biggest Christian stories of the week from Premier Christian News, Church Times, Christian Today, Anglican Ink, and the BBC, and reflect on what it all means for believers trying to stay faithful in an age of confusion. We explore:• Why Creation Fest’s financial crisis matters for evangelism• What the Isle of Man vote reveals about cultural secularisation• The “Holy Bass” controversy and the clash between relevance and reverence• The latest from the Makin Review and the call to holiness in leadership• The Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer breaking ground after 20 years• Why young adults are searching for healing, meaning, and faith• And the surprisingly powerful witness of this year’s Nativity stamps Through it all runs one message: The Church is shaking… but God is still building. If you’re trying to live as part of the faithful remnant — or what John Mark Comer calls a creative minority — this episode is for you. Watch, reflect, and stay grounded in the truth. Christ will build His Church. This is a public episode. Bishops, Bible, and the Battle for Truth!

This week on Rev Dan’s Round Up, the headlines tell a story of tension and truth across the Church, but also of courage, conviction, and hope. The Living in Love and Faith process has left the Church of England more divided than ever, as bishops, deans, and clergy clash over blessing same sex relationships and biblical authority. While the hierarchy wavers, thousands of ordinary believers are stepping out in faith, from churches joining the Shine Your Light prayer weekend across Britain, to evangelist Ben Jack urging the global Church not to dilute the gospel at the World Evangelical Alliance Assembly. At the same time, persecuted Christians in Nigeria continue to rebuild their churches brick by brick, showing the world that the gospel is fireproof. In Finland, MP Päivi Räsänen and Bishop Juhana Pohjola face their nation’s Supreme Court for quoting Scripture, a case that will decide whether biblical truth can still be spoken in Europe without fear. And even as truth stands trial, the Word of God keeps running free, with Wycliffe Bible Translators celebrating Scripture now available in over 4,000 languages worldwide. Through it all, one message stands clear. The Church may be shaking, but the Kingdom is not. Christ is still building His Church in the courtroom, in the refugee camp, in the streets, and in the heart that refuses to give up on truth.
