Revisiting Stargazing on the Isle of Coll (+ Stargazing Tips‪)‬ Wild for Scotland Podcast

    • Places & Travel

It's International Dark Sky Week! ✨ 🔭 🪐

To celebrate we're revisiting an episode about one of my favourite islands on the Scottish west coast. 'Day and Night' is a story about my first trip to the Isle of Coll. It lasted only 24 hours, giving me a taste of everything Coll has to offer by day and by night. Rugged coastlines, wild waters, beautiful beaches, fascinating history, welcoming locals and of course, dark skies. Coll is a Dark Sky Community, which means the night skies are unspoilt by light pollution. On a clear night, you can bathe in the dazzling light of millions of stars.

After the story, we've prepared an updated tips section with my top tips for stargazing in Scotland.

Check out my up-to-date Isle of Coll travel guide.

Note that IsleGO is sadly no longer operating. A great alternative for boat trips in the area is Tiree Sea Tours - they are based in Tiree but also offer trips with pick up in Arinagour on Coll.
