    Kristin Stadum is a walking revolution. A graduate of Ohio’s Bowling Green, she left her midwestern roots after to college to move to Washington DC to work in federal finance. This work did not stop Kristin from traveling to every continent before the age of 40. However, a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis also under the age of forty cast a shadow on her traveling ways. Kristin, however, has always had an altruistic spirit. Last year, despite her illness, she cofounded 2,000 Libros whose mission is to provide books to immigrant children who separated from their families and placed in centers across the U.S. She is also using philanthropic nature this year to help raise funds for the disease she is all too familiar with, MS in the Challenge Walk MS.

    Kristin Stadum es una revolución andante. Graduada de Bowling Green en Ohio, dejó sus raíces del medio oeste después de la universidad para mudarse a Washington DC para trabajar en finanzas federales.     Vanessa Skyes is a woman whose pregnancy transformed her. She was always passionate about childbirth and during her first pregnancy she realized that there was a lack of resources and support for Bolivian women who want a safe and healthy delivery. After having her daughter, her experience and passion led her to train as Doula in childbirth by certifying herself with Doula Canada and then completing training with Lamaze International on healthy practices of childbirth. Vanessa is an Instructor in the Perinatal Health and Breastfeeding diploma at the Unifranz and has had the pleasure of training health professionals in Santa Cruz clinics on how to provide better support to women during labor. She also runs Vanessa Sykes Birth Services, an organization that offers prenatal education, birth support, private counseling and breastfeeding group support.

    Vanessa Skyes es una mujer cuyo embarazo la transformó. Siempre le apasionó el parto y durante su primer embarazo se dio cuenta de que faltaban recursos y apoyo para las mujeres bolivianas que querían un parto seguro y saludable.     Linda Karl is a woman using yoga as a means of evolution. She first encountered the idea of yoga in the early seventies. Her practice deepened in the early 1990s and she got certified to teach in 2002. Karl went on to study the teachings of Sri Krishnamacharya in 2004, became certified in yoga therapy in 2014 and Trauma Sensitive Yoga in 2011. She was also one of the first Yin Yoga teacher in the Chicago area. She has been featured in Conversations with Modern Yogis, which presents insights from some of today's most influential yoga teachers, and raises important questions about the significance of yoga in modern life today. She splits her modern life between Batavia, Illinois and India. We are honored to have Linda on rgurleyrevolution.com to discuss her journey with yoga as well as her journeys around the globe.

    Ashley Rogers is bringing the plight of Bolivian women into the halls of academia. A native of Scotland, she decided to pursue a PhD in Socio-Legal Studies at the University of Stirling, after completing her Masters in Human Rights and International Politics at Glasgow University. It was at Glasgow University that she came to learn about violence against women in Bolivia through one of her lecturers, Mo Hume. She then completed a second Masters in Social Research Methods at Stirling before pursuing her PhD. Legal developments in Bolivia inspired Rogers to do a year-long stay, where she did fieldwork in the area of gender-based violence. She has since returned to Scotland where she researches and teaches at Abertay University in Dundee. We are honored to be speaking to Ashley in Scotland to learn more about her research on the issue of gender-based violence and women in Bolivia.

    Ashley Rogers está llevando la difícil situación de las mujeres bolivianas a los pasillos de la academia. Nacida en Escocia, decidió obtener un doctorado en estudios socio-legales en la Universidad de Stirling, después de completar su maestría en derechos humanos y política internacional en la Universidad de Glasgow.
