In every situation there is exists two worlds; the outer and inner. Most of us are quite familiar with the physical outer world as that is what we see and interact with daily. Our society is overly focused upon the physical outer world and continues to forget about the vital inner world.

The inner world is located in our minds; the control center for all of our outer behaviors and performance. Every action you take springs forth from the culture of your inner world. That culture comprises your values, beliefs, goals, and dreams. Much like a computer, your inner world has many programs that run and direct your life. These programs are the result of how you have been shaped by circumstances and a direct result of how successful you have been at winning the inner game of life.

Whether you knew it or not, in every situation, circumstance, trial, and tribulation in your life, you have faced darkness on the battlefield within your mind. Darkness seeks to hack you’re your mind and embed terrorist-like cells that create programs of confusion, fear, self-doubt, hate, and shame. These programs of insecurity continue to limit your potential and sabotage your efforts to be happy, joyful, and achieve your dreams.

The antidote for this battle is the mission of the Rhino Mentality Podcast. That antidote consists of creating awareness of the inner battle with darkness, helping others develop a powerful mindset (inner culture), and training others to proficiency in superior mental toughness tools.

Developing a Rhino Mentality is like creating a powerful inner life warrior that utilizes superior mental toughness tools to protect and defend you on your journey towards happiness, joy, and achievement of your dreams.

Ep 28 - Mental Toughness Tools - Framing

Ep 28 - Mental Toughness Tools - Framing

All of us will go through numerous challenges in our lives. For some, challenges may show themselves on a daily basis; for others, less frequently. Facing those challenges can be difficult at times; especially if you don’t have the proper tools!

I don’t know how many times I have taken on a home improvement project using the limited tools I own. I am not a contractor and don’t really enjoy doing a great deal of construction and repair work so I don’t own a great deal of tools.

When I have to use my limited tools to do a home repair job, I have an intimate experience with frustration as I tend to make the job a bigger deal. Not having the right tools for the job only increases the frustration, adds more time on the job, and has a tendency to create more problems. That is when I reach out to my tool wielding buddies for help.

On this episode of the Rhino Mentality Podcast, I describe a very simple mental toughness tool that you can use when facing any challenge. This tool is a vital tool that you MUST have in your tool box if you want to have any success against a challenge. To get this tool you don’t need to spend any money and it only takes 7 minutes of your time to learn about!

Ep 27 - Mental Toughness Tools - Keep it in Perspective

Ep 27 - Mental Toughness Tools - Keep it in Perspective

Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth. – Marcus Aurelius

“Life aint always beautiful” as Gary Allan’s song dictates. “Sometimes is just plain hard” as the song continues. It’s during these hard times that we tend to lose perspective and freak out!

Keeping an eye on our response to this challenging time is vital. How many of us tend to make a mountain out of a mole hill? Or, a mountain range out of a mountain? Why make it worse than what it already is!

The mind can play terrible tricks on us when we lose perspective. You ever seen a person with a blind fold on reaching into a tank that has a teddy bear in it; however, they have no idea what is actually in the tank? They start freaking out and reacting to whatever their minds are presenting to them. Makes for good entertainment for those watching though, LOL!

A simple phrase or mantra can help during these times. Go ahead and listen to the episode to learn what that phrase is and how it can really help you out!

Ep 26 - Mental Toughness Tools - Response Ability

Ep 26 - Mental Toughness Tools - Response Ability

When you are faced with a challenging situation, what is your usual response? Do you get defensive? Shut down? Become angry? What is it?

In order to develop true mental toughness, you need to demonstrate psychological flexibility. In other words, you really need to be able to adjust and adapt your responses to meet the demands of the situation. If you are unaware of your usual responses, then you may be creating more problems than you originally had in the first place.

The key to remember is that the only thing you have control over is your response. No matter what happens, your response will always dictate what happens next. Check out this brief micro class podcast episode to learn more!

#25 - How to Improve Concentration and Focus When Distracted

#25 - How to Improve Concentration and Focus When Distracted

Two very important aspects that help you perform better are your ability to concentrate and focus. Recently, I read numerous articles on this topic and a couple of strategies seem to emerge that work the best; eliminate distractions and stop multi-tasking.

By eliminating distractions and focusing on one task at a time, your performance will increase because your ability to concentrate and focus will be less hindered.

Now, these great strategies definitely work; don’t get me wrong. However, the truth is we all live and operate in a world filled with distractions. In other words, we do not have complete control over our environments all the time; unless you live in laboratory LOL.

So, how do we improve our ability to focus and concentrate while operating and living in a world filled with distractions? Check out the episode for details on how to train and actually improve your concentration and focus so you can perform better while being distracted.

Leaving Your Comfort Zone: What you must know! (Ep 24)

In order to reach success, you need to first fly through the turbulence of uncomfortableness! On this episode, Chris Swenson reveals to the listener what actually happens when you leave the safety of your comfort zone airspace. Too many people are unprepared to deal with the normal uncomfortable turbulence they face when working to achieve goals. Quickly, they retreat back into the airspace of the comfort zone and give up on pursuing their goals; which is a byproduct of our cultures fascination with being soft! If you truly want to prepare and train for leaving your comfort zone, then you need to check this episode out.
