Ep #147 - My guest today, Richard Kincaid, is the founder and CEO of Sagegreenlife, a design and manufacturing company specializing in living garden walls. As a strategic leader with a background in real estate, Kincaid drives the firm's mission of bringing a sense of well-being, purpose, and beauty to commercial and residential spaces across the globe.
Mr. Kincaid has held three C-level positions at Equity Office – CFO, COO and CEO. During his tenure as CEO, he substantially restructured the company’s portfolio. The company sold $8 billion, or 60 million square feet, of office space, purchased $3 billion in office assets within supply-constrained markets, and purchased $3 billion in the company’s stock at an average price of $30.50. By the time the company was sold to the Blackstone Group for total consideration of $39 billion ($55.50 per share), the portfolio’s geographic concentration had gone from 55% in coastal markets to 90% in coastal markets. The company’s total return during Mr. Kincaid’s tenure as CEO was over 36% compounded annually.
Sagegreenlife has gone on to land major contracts with enterprise companies like Apple and continues to grow and expand. In this interview, we get into Richard's background in business, the genesis of Sagegreenlife, and what truly drives him as a leader and entrepreneur. Enjoy my interview with Mr. Richard Kincaid.
