Makes Me Smile Every Time

As someone who has not only watched Rick Steves’ Europe but been on 6 Rick Steves’ Tours, I feel like this podcast really nails it. I especially like the hosts’ appreciation of Rick Steves’ corny humor.

This is the kind of podcast I listen to when I need a bit of joy in my day. The hosts don’t fawn over Steves’ work, but do have a loving appreciation of all that Rick is trying to do for travelers as we learn to be better citizens of the world.

I love their analysis of action shots, cold opens, and bloopers. You may not appreciate this podcast if you have never watched a Rick Steves’ show - but if you have, you’ll be hooked.

For a real “meta” experience, listen to the episode when the hosts interview Rick Steves as they talk about their review of Steves’ Rome program.

Keep it up!

Never Watched Rick Steves Europe But Found The Podcast — Now Watch Rick Steves Europe

I’m a huge podcast person, and I have to say this podcast took me by surprise and has charmed its way into my daily life. I currently live in Paris, so some friends suggested I listened to Rick Steves’ walking tours through Paris. Rick Steves somehow managed to navigate me through Père Lachaise cemetery — literally using tombstones for direction — while mesmerizing me with wild facts and anecdotes to my delight. Before traveling across Europe, I decided to try to find an apt podcast when I stumbled upon this one. Oddly enough, I had never watched Rick Steves Europe when I found this podcast, but I found Chris and Stephanie’s travel stories helpful and relatable while getting a second hand crush on Rick Steves. Since listening to this podcast I have started to watch his show online! Side note: I watched his Verona episode before traveling there and saw one of the local guides he drank grappa with!
