Van, your podcasts have done more than change our minds about horses

Van your podcasts have truely been an uplifting and eye opening experience for my husband and I. I have a Tennessee Walker who’s 12 and sadly, buy more than likely been abused in his past. He’s my first horse as an adult and I’m completely smitten by him. My husband got into horses bc I was into them;). He leased a spotted saddle /draft horse and then of course bought him bc he fell in love with him. The past owner didn’t even touch him for a year. He was like a zombie with clouded eyes when we first met him back in March. Now he has bright sparkling eyes and looks 15 years younger. He’s 23. The two of our boys are the best of friends now. With all of that being said you could say we were fairly new to horses. O had one growing up on our family farm but hadn’t ridden for 15 years. So we’re both beginners. I’m more confident than my husband is but that confidence is not appropriately earned and it’s my TWH. We’ve loved the fact that you really break down the why’s and how’s of the horse but more importantly the human. Bc it’s the human that really has to change and lay down our pride and “pre determined” knowledge just bc we used to have horses as kids. We have loved listening to your analogies of certain things pertaining to horses and behavior of the horse and humans together in your podcasts. It’s almost like I’m listening to my favorite preacher when I was a teenager in youth group in Louisburg, NC. Thank you for your uplifting messages and your always positive tones of voice and messages. If your ever around the Raleigh, NC area please let us know! ~Dean & Ashley Watson

Just what I needed...

There is an incredible amount of information avaiable related to horses out there... a novice like me can really get overwhelmed. Van breaks horsemanship down into profound yet simple ideas that I can really understand. Co-host Laura is always there with the perfect question to clarify any point being made. I started from the beginning... and am nearing the end. I hope Van and Laura intend to continue!
