Gets me through the day!
Tablestory shows have gotten me through many a workday and Rime is fantastic so far. Barely able to contain my laughter at the end of ep. 2!
Great show, save one character
Tablestory is amazing, truly, and Rime of the Frost Maiden is no exception! I have to say, it melds fantastic narrative writing, mechanics are spot on, excellent DM interaction, and near flawless characters…except one.
Moonbrook is difficult to listen to, especially episodes 36 on. I don’t mind cursing or poor character choices if it makes sense and doesn’t detract from the roleplay. If you can ignore the elf’s irrational and unprovoked actions, you’re fine.
Is she a flat character with an intriguing backstory? Well, not entirely. She is a solid addition for the first 27 episodes, is okay until 35, then stops developing as a character. As a DM myself, I would have pulled her aside and coached her about story and roleplay.
With that said, I’ve listened to all of this show on podcast, half of the episodes twice, and additionally watched every episode on YouTube. So, I’m a huge fan, especially of the excellence in quality of the production and Tariel, my favorite character!
Great commute listen
I have an hour commute to work every day and have been listening to Rime on the way and it has made my drives something I actually look forward to! The whole crew always brings their all to each show and the characters are amazing. The effort they put in is clear and I can’t wait to keep listening, I’m far more invested in this story than I ever thought I would be - honestly more immersive than any audiobook I have tried listening to.
