Bring Back Rudy!
I’ve been watching and listening to Rudy for years. I first started with Rick Steves but then I found Rudy and haven’t looked back since but the current show with the Carey’s just isn’t the same. The Carey’s are featured too much and are given too much time, IMO they water down the show and take away what Rudy made special. I miss Rudy’s personality and his personal experiences on his travels. Is there a way that Rudy can have a “segment’ where he’s on by himself doing what made him so popular? I’d really appreciate that.
Best Travel Show
This is the most entertaining show about travel, in my opinion. All three hosts bring a wealth of travel experience from the industry to the microphone every week. The topics are diverse and interesting. Rudy’s contributions are my favorite.
There are no hidden agendas, which drives me away from other shows. One improvement I would like to hear on this show is for them to steer clear of pressure to appease, *ahem*, post-2020 special-interest groups. I do hear segments that come up occasionally but thankfully it is rare.
Note, this is a modified review. I was initially critical of the hosts due to their tendency to talk over one another incessantly. This issue has noticeably improved yet can still use some more work. Imagine if all reviewers would revisit past reviews that they made on any platform. Ratings wouldn’t be as skewed now like they are everywhere.
As an aside, millions of fans are still waiting for new travel documentaries from Rudy Maxa. Previous ones I saw on PBS were part of a series and they were amazing (e.g., “Rudy Maxa's World” and “Smart Travels”). It’s one of the few reasons to watch PBS, which has been intentionally divisive since at least 2008.
Love the content
Show has gotten really good over the past few years. Nice format and topical info for anyone from the eccentric traveler to the summer vacationer. Love it.
