    Day 16: Monday, Jan 18

    Day 16: Monday, Jan 18

    Romans 7:23-24

    For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?

    -Starve Addiction

    Romans 6:12-14 (NLT)

    Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. 13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. 14 Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.

    Romans 8:5 (NLT)

    Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.

    Day 15: Sunday, Jan 17

    Day 15: Sunday, Jan 17

    1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NIV)

    Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

    1. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit

    Matthew 6:22-23 (NIV)

    The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness.

    2. My body belongs to God

    Romans 12:1 (NIV)

    Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

    3. My body was made to honor God

    Romans 6:13 (NLT)

    Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God.

    DAILY PRAYER EMPHASIS — THANK GOD FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE

    “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NLT)

    God demonstrates His love for you in all sorts of ways. This verse reminds us that when we pray, it is good to regularly come back to thanking God for His ultimate act of love. (John 3:16) Take this Sunday and dedicate your week to God. Thank God, for the gift of eternal life.

    “The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.”

    -When you are unsure about your future… Focus on ALL & FOREVER

    “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me ALL the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord FOREVER.”

    PRAYER EMPHASIS: LOCAL CHURCHES

    -When you are not sure where you are headed… Follow the path of righteousness

    “He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.”

    -When you are afraid… Remember God is with you

    “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

    The rod was used for protection and correction.

    PRAYER EMPHASIS: LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS

    “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.” — 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NLT)

    Day 12: Thursday, Jan 14

    Day 12: Thursday, Jan 14

    Our souls can’t find rest because:

    1. We want what we can’t have

    2. We don’t know how to stop

    3. We are not sure where we’re headed

    4. We are afraid

    5. We don’t have enough

    6. We are unsure about the future

    Psalm 23 (NKJV)

    The Lord is my shepherd;

    I shall not want.

    2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;

    He leads me beside the still waters.

    3 He restores my soul;

    He leads me in the paths of righteousness

    For His name’s sake.

    4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

    I will fear no evil;

    For You are with me;

    Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

    5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;

    You anoint my head with oil;

    My cup runs over.

    6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me

    All the days of my life;

    And I will dwell in the house of the Lord

    Forever.

    -When you want what you cannot have… Put confidence in your shepherd

    “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

    -When you don’t know how to stop… Go to green pastures

    “He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.”

    DAILY PRAYER EMPHASIS: THE MILITARY

    “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” —Romans 8:38-39 (NIV)

    Pray for loved ones and church members who are currently serving in the military. Pray for veterans who are struggling with wounds, both physical and mental, from their time serving. Pray also for military families.
