Roy Sloan, Executive Director of the Fiordland Wapiti Foundation, joins Robbie to talk about the Foundation’s work managing both the New Zealand native environment but also managing the nation’s deer herd for quality. New Zealand’s unique hybrid herd (they have both elk and red deer DNA) deep in the south of New Zealand began with a gift of 18 elk by none other than Teddy Roosevelt in 1905.
