30: How To Take Challenges In Stride With Evan Schwartz

"The first step towards achieving something is believing you can do it" -ES
Our featured guest Evan Schwartz has become excellent at taking life's challenges in stride. Years ago Evan was a member of both the Cross Country and Track & Field team for The Ohio State University. Early on in his transition from a high school athlete to collegiate athlete, he experienced a setback with his first big running injury. His resiliency as a distance runner proved true as he was able to bounce back the following season with excellent races. The following season Ohio State experienced a couple of coaching changes bringing about change for Evan as well, leaving him off of the university roster for not being fast enough. Frustrated but determined to continue following his passion, Evan joined the Columbus Running Company team where he began to reveal his true potential as a distance runner.
Evan has recently seen a change in scenery and is now living in Boulder, Colorado where he is training for the 2020 Olympic Trials in the marathon.
Please join us to hear how Evan went from getting cut from his collegiate team to qualifying for the Olympic Trials in the marathon.

29: The Art Of Progression & How To Become A Story Worth Telling With Kyle Masterson

29: The Art Of Progression & How To Become A Story Worth Telling With Kyle Masterson

“Champions dont have the best of everything they make the best of everything.” -Damon Martin
Our guest Kyle Masterson is the epitome of a story worth telling. Kyle grew up in Northeast Ohio where distance running is considered to be extremely competitive in comparison to other states in the US. Although Kyle was talented in high school, he was often overshadowed by runners who were simply on another level. In pursuit of developing as a distance runner, Kyle chose to take the road less traveled by not going to any one of the numerous universities that would have guaranteed him scholarships to continue his running career. The year following high school he instead chose to walk-on to the most storied running program in the history of collegiate cross country, Adams State University.

On paper Kyle was not close to being considered a varsity runner, but he knew that if he surrounded himself with talented athletes and great coaches he too could become great. So Kyle traveled the 1,700 miles from home in pursuit of a challenge and the with the desire of becoming a story worth telling. Like most collegiate athletes he experienced injuries, setbacks, and moments of frustration. However, through his incredible dedication, consistency, and unwavering faith he was able to develop into one of the country’s best distance runners.

Kyle graduated Adam’s State as a three time All-American and as a member of multiple national championship teams. Kyle currently lives in Colorado with his wife Lauren and is pursuing his passion as professional distance runner for Skechers Performance. Recently Kyle was 1 of 24 Americans who competed at the United States Track & Field Championships in the 10,000 meters in Des Moines, Iowa.

27: Schedule Your Success: See The Possibility & Experience The Breakthrough With The Help of Documenting Your Own Journey

27: Schedule Your Success: See The Possibility & Experience The Breakthrough With The Help of Documenting Your Own Journey

Many runners within the running community can see the possibility of success, but only a small number of them can create consistent opportunities to experience the breakthrough they desire. Why is that? How is it possible for someone to create consistent opportunities for breakthrough while others only come across such opportunities occasionally.
In my experience the runners who are capable of scheduling success consistently and accurately are the same individuals who document, track, and record their training.
Successful or detailed driven runners as I like to call them, know how to avoid past training mistakes so that they have the opportunity to schedule the races they would like to perform well at. Unsuccessful runners fail at this very thing.
Join us to hear the ultimate success formula for distance athletes.
