S01 EP03 - Gaming Stories That Matter

    • Society & Culture

In this episode we wanted to explore storytelling from different perspectives in the games industry - the people that make games, make the technology and those who write about the games industry. We wanted to uncover how narrative in gaming has developed and how it allows stories to be told in a uniquely personal way. How stories in gaming connect people, literally and metaphorically. How technology is changing the medium, especially on the eve of the next generation of games consoles. Finally, we wanted to talk about how in the era of Covid-19, we have turned to games in unprecedented numbers to provide escapism and connection and how the gaming industry has continued to operate and thrive.
Our Guests include journalists Millicent Thomas and Guy Cocker, Riot Games' Greg Street and Lenovo's Ben Williams.
