Join Veteran Char Gatlin and Dr. Ron Seel for episode 4 of season 1 of The Abstract Veteran Series, a special feature of The Abstract Doctors podcasts, as they welcome Professor, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Dr. William Walker.
Char has been active reviewing Department of Defense research grants for the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program and other organizations as a consumer reviewer. Char currently serves as the co-chair of the Consumer Advisory Board for the LIMBIC-CENC. He also is highly active in the greater Montana community, serving on multiple boards and committees including serving as the Vice Chair for the Foundation for Community Health and a consumer advisor for the Neural Injury Center at the University of Montana. He is also a member of numerous academic health grant and scholarship committees on both local and national levels.
Ronald T. Seel, PhD, FACRM, is Professor and Vice-Chair of Research in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine. He is Executive Director of the VCU Center for Rehabilitation Science and Engineering and facilitates interdisciplinary research across VCU, Sheltering Arms Institute, and the Central Virginia Veterans Health System. Dr. Seel is Co-Project Director of the Virginia TBI Model System and Knowledge Translation Director of the Long-term Impact of Military-relevant Brain Injury Consortium-Chronic Effects of Neurotrauma Consortium (LIMBIC-CENC). He chairs the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine Evidence and Practice Committee.
