Together, we’ll laugh, maybe shed a few tears, but most importantly, we’ll remind ourselves that no one journeys through life alone. I hope you enjoy these moments as much as I do. So, are you ready? WELCOME to the conversation!

REPLAY: S1E37 So What Do We Do Now? — One Year Later with Nathan Serrato

It’s almost been a year since the 2024 election, and for many of us, the emotions still feel so raw.  The division in our country, the daily barrage of chaos and the uncertainty about what lies ahead - it all feels incredibly heavy and sometimes difficult to navigate.  This week has been particularly paralyzing and my anxiety was at an all time high.  In moments like these, I found myself revisiting many of the incredibly grounding and transformative conversations I’ve had on this podcast over the past 2 seasons. This conversation with Nathan Serrato, a Trauma-Informed Mindset Coach (PCC) based in San Diego, CA, helped me pull me out of the darkness and into a renewed space of hope this week and I wanted to replay our conversation for you.  When we first recorded this episode, just one week after the 2024 election, Nathan helped us process the shock and emotional weight of that moment. Now, a year later, his insights feel even more vital. His approach to emotional resilience - rooted in compassion, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care - continues to guide us as we navigate these challenging times.  In this replay, Nathan walks us through four essential ways to process difficult emotions — from fear and anger to sadness, confusion, and hopelessness. He reminds us that healing takes courage, that we can’t bypass the hard emotions, and that caring for our mental health is not optional - it’s essential if we want to stand strong and keep moving forward. As we reflect on where we are a year later, this episode is a reminder that we are not alone. Our community, especially those from marginalized groups, continues to carry so much, but through awareness, healing, and unity, we can transform that pain into purpose - and create a future grounded in love, justice, peace and inclusion. We’ve been here before. We know how to rise above it all. But first, we have to take care of ourselves - and each other.   To learn more about Nathan and his work, visit: https://www.queerconscious.com Send us a text Thank you for joining us and we can't wait to welcome you back again next week! S2E24 with Peter Cervantes - Finding My Way Back To Me

In this powerful episode, I’m joined by Peter J. Cervantes, a first-generation Mexican-American writer from San Diego, whose work rises from the intersection of queer identity, cultural trauma, and the difficult — but transformative — journey of healing within communities where silence is often known as survival. Peter shares his remarkable story behind his debut book, The Road Back to Me: Six Sacred Tools for Queer Healing Through Shadow, Breath, and Truth (arriving early 2026). During this raw and emotional conversation, Peter takes us through his journey and his near-death experience at thirty-seven and the difficult five-year road to finding his authenticity at forty-two. It is a deeply personal testament that recovery is possible, even without family support and amidst complex trauma. Our conversation is for anyone who has struggled to honor their heritage while seeking mental health, for LGBTQ+ people of color searching for real healing tools, and for anyone ready and willing to reclaim authenticity in their life.  Peter is a remarkable human being and our conversation deeply impacted my own life, and I am so honored to share it with you.   Follow Peter’s journey and reflections on turning pain into healing on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/peterj.cervantes/ Substack at https://peterjcervantes.substack.com  LinkedIn at https://linkedin.com/in/peter-j-cervantes-1a9a39387  Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/peter.j.cervantes You can also learn more about Peter on his website at https://www.peterjcervantes.com  Send us a text Thank you for joining us and we can't wait to welcome you back again next week! REPLAY: S2E05 with Zoe Moore - Disrupting the Approach to DE&I

The past two weeks have been tough to navigate and I found myself desperate to connect with someone who impacted my life during a difficult time.  I decided to reflect on this special episode with Zoe Moore because she’s someone who left a deep mark on me both personally and professionally. Zoe is a bold, unapologetic leader who is transforming individuals and organizations with data-driven strategies that create lasting equity and inclusion.  A far cry from the assumptions and false narratives that are flooding our world.   When I first met her in Tulum, I quickly realized this was no ordinary conversation. Zoe challenged me to reexamine my own life, my business, and even the way I navigate the ridiculously complicated times we’re living through here in the U.S. Her perspective was eye-opening, and I walked away knowing I’d never look at diversity, equity, and inclusion the same way again. My hope is this conversation resonates with you and that you will share it with your family, friends & colleagues.  As a Certified Diversity Professional and U.S. Army veteran with 12 years of service, Zoe brings a distinctive clarity and relentless commitment to holding people accountable, cultivating deeply inclusive cultures, and advancing diversity. She’s on a mission to drive real impact and economic empowerment for underrepresented communities—and she’s not afraid to disrupt outdated approaches along the way. Zoe is the real deal and a true change-maker, and I’m so glad you get to meet her this week.   To find out more about Zoe and her work, visit:  https://www.growwithzomo.com Send us a text Thank you for joining us and we can't wait to welcome you back again next week! S2E21 with Archer Gray - The Heart of Hospice: Care, Comfort & Compassion

In this heartfelt episode, I welcome back my friend and former guest Archer Gray for a deeply moving conversation about the profound benefits of hospice care—not only for patients nearing the end of life, but also for the families and loved ones who walk alongside them. Together, we explore what hospice truly is, how it prioritizes quality of life, and why it’s ultimately about living fully in each moment rather than focusing solely on the end. REPLAY: S1E3 with Nathan Serrato - Identity & Perfectionism

Earlier this week, I had the privilege of joining my friend Nathan Serrato on his incredible Queer Conscious Podcast, where we dove deep into a topic that’s personal to me—divorce. My divorce, to be exact. The conversation stirred up reflections on authenticity and the exhausting pursuit of perfection - being the perfect son, the perfect entrepreneur, the perfect friend, perfect boyfriend, and perfect husband. That hour with Nathan was both cathartic and healing, reminding me of the power of speaking your truth in a space where your heart and soul feel safe. Nathan has a rare gift for creating that space. So in honor of our time together, today on Just Do You., we’re revisiting one of our most powerful episodes from last season—my original sit-down with Nathan, a Trauma-Informed Mindset Coach (PCC) based in San Diego. In this replay, we explore the tangled relationship between perfectionism and personal identity—a conversation that’s as insightful as it is liberating. If you’ve ever wrestled with that relentless inner critic or carried the heavy expectation to always “get it right,” this episode will speak to you. Expect to laugh, reflect, and leave with a renewed sense of what it truly means to embrace peace, happiness, and joy—beyond perfection.
