Tonight’s episode of Recreation Sonore is about loneliness! Those who are stuck at home right now may relate to this. This documentary comes from deep in the archives of RTE Documentary on One @rtedoconone, Radio Ireland. It’s called “A Universal Affliction, Loneliness”. It’s actually quite soothing hearing these different characters describing how they feel and being listened to by this neutral, non-judgdemental voice as they talk about everyday things. It brought back memories of my Grandmother listening to the radio whenever she was awake—I think it helped her to feel less lonely.
“A Universal Affliction, Loneliness” was produced by PP McGuire and broadcast for the first time in 1975 on RTE Radio Ireland.
