Welcome to episode 109. In this episode I present a sermon I preached titled, "An Introduction to the 4th Way." Before the sermon I talk about ordination and consecration from an essay I had written back in 2004 and after the sermon I have some final thoughts.

Christian Animism and Bridge Building with Shawn Sanford Beck

Christian Animism and Bridge Building with Shawn Sanford Beck

Welcome to episode 108, in this episode I have the honor of interviewing the Reverend Shawn Sanford Beck.
The Rev. Shawn Sanford Beck is an ecumenical Christian priest in the Anglican tradition, and a member of the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids. He is the author of Christian Animism, and the founder of the Ecumenical Companions of Sophia, an informal online community fostering Christian-Pagan dialogue and spiritual practice.  He lives with his family on an off-the-grid farm community in north-western Saskatchewan, where he is chaplain to the human and more-than-human wights of the community.  When not writing sermons, chopping wood, or practicing magic, Shawn can be counted on to have his nose buried in a book.

Breaking the Rules with Linda Rounds Nichols

Breaking the Rules with Linda Rounds Nichols

Welcome to episode 104, in this episode I have the honor of interviewing Bishop Linda Rounds-Nichols.
Although not recognized as such at the time, Linda’s first call to the ministry may have been when she wasn’t yet a teenager. Since no one saw that situation as a call, she followed another dream and became an educator:  first a teacher, then a counselor, then a central office administrator, and finally a principal. She also served as an adjunct instructor in higher education, so throughout her career, her students ranged from pre-school to post-grads.
As her tenure in education was ending, that call to the ministry returned, in invitations to study programs, questions from church people, and finally during one of the times she held the chalice while assisting with communion. She noticed, fought the call, then followed.
Bishop Linda is now the director of Public Relations and Communications with the Catholic Apostolic Church of Antioch, dean emerita of Sophia Divinity School and church historian.
