Thank you Pastors for what you are doing to bring about Biblical clarity from scripture. My roots are in the Assembly of God denomination but as I look back, I realize that there were many ideas in my church that were heretical and were not quite orthodoxy. I think one of the problems of current contemporary churches in our world is that they do not preach with a historical doctrinal framework in mind and miss the whole point of what the gospel is. I think modern pastors would serve the people better if they would focus on “who we are in the finished work of Christ” and living that out , rather than how does the scripture apply to me in my little world that I live in everyday. The difference is the emphasis is more on Christ & not me. The beauty of the gospel is that it was never about you and never will be about you but about Christ and what He has done for us and that will make you realize how we are in desperate need for him all the time and that we need to cling to him. We will then see how wretched we are as the Prophet Isaiah realized this when he saw a vision of The holiness of God. This is a difficult to understand in this ‘me self centered’ generation we live in. My prayer is that people will come to know His word properly and that their knowledge of the gospel will drive their actions in life. Their is such joy & rest in Christ as His servants when we properly digest the Word of God.
