    Salamone ep.136 with Jen Winston

    Salamone ep.136 with Jen Winston

    [podcast_subscribe id="23590"]
Michael Salamone chats with Jen Winston, (aka @jenerous on https://twitter.com/jenerous (Twitter) and https://instagram.com/jenerous (Instagram)) a writer, creator, and bisexual social media influencer living in Brooklyn. She runs a feminist social platform with over 190,000 followers, which she started after the 2016 US election to share memes that helped her stay mad. The platform has since become a space dedicated to unlearning, where Jen documents her experiences around sexuality, systemic oppression, and self.
Jen's first book, https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Greedy-Notes-from-a-Bisexual-Who-Wants-Too-Much/Jen-Winston/9781982179175 (GREEDY: Notes from a Bisexual Who Wants Too Much), comes out this fall. GREEDY is a memoir that follows Jen’s attempts to make sense of herself as she explores the role of the male gaze, what it means to be “queer enough,” and how to overcome bi stereotypes when you’re the poster-child for all of them: greedy, slutty, and constantly confused. GREEDY shows us that being bi is about so much more than who you’re sleeping with—it’s about finding stability in a state of flux and defining yourself on your own terms. This book inspires us to rethink the world as we know it, reminding us that Greedy was a superpower all along.

    Salamone ep.135 with Ben Cohen

    [podcast_subscribe id="23590"]
Michael Salamone chats with the Ben half of Ben and Jerry's, Ben Cohen, about his and Jerry Greenfield's new project, https://michaelsalamone.com/wp-admin/campaigntoendqualifiedimmunity.org (campaigntoendqualifiedimmunity.org).
Qualified immunity is a ruling by the Supreme Court that requires lower court judges to ignore whether any laws were broken and dismiss the case, UNLESS another police officer had been found guilty previously in a similar situation, making it near impossible for any officer breaking the law to be found guilty the first time around to open the door to accountability.
The Campaign to End Qualified Immunity is seeking Federal legislation to overturn the Supreme Court's ruling. Through their website, https://michaelsalamone.com/wp-admin/campaigntoendqualifiedimmunity.org (campaigntoendqualifiedimmunity.org) you can sign up to be active in lobbying for changing this antiquated ruling with origins in protecting the KKK post-Civil-War.
You can follow Ben Cohen on Twitter https://twitter.com/YoBenCohen (@YoBenCohen) and support the work at https://michaelsalamone.com/wp-admin/campaigntoendqualifiedimmunity.org (campaigntoendqualifiedimmunity.org).

Solid mainstream media alternative!

I discovered this podcast a few months ago whilst searching for some solid alt media. Updated regularly, Salamone offers engaging, informative political dialogue with interesting guests each week. It has a solid presence among the alt media shows that are beginning to blossom these days...Definitely check it out if you’re fatigued from the MSM!
