A video game podcast from NIHF. Every week, Save Point explores all the biggest trends, headlines, and big releases in the video game industry. New episodes drop on Wednesdays.
"Twelve Minutes" and "Boyfriend Dungeon"
Both of the games we discuss this week feature content that some listeners may find disturbing. If you are easily triggered by issues of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, stalking, or issues of consent. This may be an episode to skip.
If you or anyone you know is involved in an unsafe domestic relationship, help is available. The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) is available at (800)656-4673. And the National Domestic Violence Violence Hotline is available at (800)799-7233. More resources are also available on their websites.
This week we're reviewing two new — very different — games for the podcast! Twelve Minutes from Annapurna Interactive and Boyfriend Dungeon from Kitfox Games.
Twelve Minutes is an adventure game developed by Luís António. It's an interactive thriller about a man trapped in a time-loop. It also features some very unexpected gameplay.
Boyfriend Dungeon is one part dating simulator, one part dungeon-crawling RPG. Its unique style of gameplay drew lots of attention to this indie game, now available on Switch, PC, and Xbox.
"Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild" and Rereleases
This week, we're reviewing Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild and talking about rereleases.
Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild is a new Netflix movie set in the Monster Hunter universe. The movie follows a young hunter named Aiden who fights to save his village from destruction by a dragon. And we're here to let you know if it's worth a stream.
Then, in our second story, we talk about all the rereleases we're getting these days. We discuss what makes a remaster vs a rerelease, and which have been our favorites.
Hades and The Activision/Blizzard Lawsuit
This week, we're talking about Hades and the Activision/Blizzard Lawsuit.
In our first story, we discuss Hades, which just came to Xbox and Playstation. The game is a roguelike dungeon crawler that made a big splash when it was released on PC and Switch last year. We check in to see what all the fuss is about.
In our second story, we dive into the details of the Activision/Blizzard Lawsuit. We discuss the toxic culture that has taken hold there and we discuss some issues with gamer culture more generally.
