Scam Inc from The Economist

A sophisticated, predatory, multi-billion dollar industry is emerging from the shadows. It already rivals the size of the illicit drug trade. And it’s about to get bigger and much more powerful. The Economist’s Sue-Lin Wong follows a trail that starts with the collapse of a bank in rural Kansas to uncover a global, underground scam economy built around human trafficking, corruption and money laundering. I telling everyone about this
5d ago
This is one of the most impactful podcasts I have ever listened to. I hope it is nominated and wins whatever awards can be given for a podcast. The journalism is top-notch and the subject matter is important. It could be a book or article — but hearing the first hand accounts make it all the more real. There has been an utter transformation in the crime industry, and we are just starting to catch on. I am telling everyone I know about this. Excellent series.

The podcast has the thrill of true crime but is educational, thoughtful, and so important. I actually could not believe what I was hearing and have recommended it to many.

Scam, Inc. is seriously addicting. The stories are wild, the hosts are super engaging, and you end up learning a lot without even realizing it. It’s like getting the inside scoop on some of the craziest scams out there—definitely one of my go-to listens right now.
