School Contracts and Being an SLP CEO with Ebony Green Private Practice Success Stories

    • Personal Journals

What are you passionate about?
Something I love about being an SLP is that you have so many opportunities available to you after you get certified. You can work in traditional settings or you can do my favorite thing and start your private practice. Once you have your private practice, the sky is the limit on what you can do!

Whether you’re interested in school contracts, having multiple locations, a brick-and-mortar clinic, or just becoming your own boss, you’re going to love this episode of Private Practice Success Stories.

I sat down with Ebony Green to talk about her journey as an SLP CEO and how she made it all happen. She has a wealth of knowledge on running your own business as an SLP so I was so excited to have her as a guest.

Ebony Green, M.S., CCC-SLP received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from The University of Texas at Austin. She then joined a highly selective national teacher corps known as Teach for America and committed four years to teaching in underserved communities. During her time in the classroom, Ebony taught bilingual elementary school students for two years and then taught Spanish at the high school level for two years. Ebony worked closely with other teachers and professionals at her school.

Ebony decided to pursue a career in speech language pathology after spending time in IEP meetings and working alongside the SLP and other special education staff at her school in Houston, TX. While in her final year of teaching Ebony began taking post-baccalaureate courses at Texas Woman’s University to learn more about speech language pathology and became an SLP-A. Ebony later moved to Arizona and completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Speech Language Pathology at Northern Arizona University and became an SLP.

In Today's Episode, We Discuss:

How Ebony landed her first school contract and how it impacted her businessHow school contracts workThe pros and cons of contractsEbony’s School Contracts Masterclass & SLP Business SuiteThe importance of having multiple streams of incomeWhy your network mattersHow your mindset impacts your success
