He is responsible for strategic investments, portfolio management, and client relations. With over 30 years of experience in public and private company investments, he's executed billions in securities trades. He is also an 11-time Five Star Wealth Manager award winner, co-founder of The Active Network, Inc., and the author of books including Via LaVie and the Friendship Code, Forever Young, and The Power Curve: Smart Investing Using Dividends Options & the Magic of Compounding. He holds Bachelors’ degrees in Economics and International Relations from Tufts University (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa), a General Course Degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard University. He is a two-time world and nine-time national champion in sailing, an Academic All-American (Tufts sailing), an Ironman triathlon finisher, and a 3rd-degree black belt in Shaolin Kempo. And he’s involved in various nonprofit organizations.

Rod Hatley, the founder of Hatley Law Group APC, embarked on his journey to become an estate planning attorney after experiencing a devastating seven-year probate process for his father's estate. His father's lack of preparation for passing on his assets led to lengthy delays and significant costs. Rod initially worked in personal injury litigation and served in the U.S. Navy JAG Corps, earning two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals. In 1995, driven by his personal experience, he pursued a Master of Laws in tax law at the University of San Diego and shifted his focus to estate planning, trust, and probate law. Rod is licensed to practice in California and Tennessee. Outside of his legal practice, he enjoys scuba diving, snorkeling, and volunteering for charitable organizations like the American Cancer Society and Nice Guys San Diego.
