Gateway Academy
When we talk about education we all agree that we want the best for our kids. But sometimes kids need special attention and can’t fit into the general education system. Kids that high-functioning autistic kids or children with asperger's syndrome. That’s where Robin Sweet & Anthony Terrill of Gateway Academy are here to help. Robin started this school 18 years ago when she and her family moved here with her 3 kids. After learning that her son had high-functioning autism and aspergers she tried everything to get the public school to work for him. But he just couldn’t succeed. So what does a parent do when they kind can’t find the resources they’re looking for? Well if you’re Robin, you start your own school! And that’s what she’s done right here in our backyard.

St. Vincent de Paul
St. Vincent de Paul of AZ started in 1946 with a mission to feed, cloth, house and heal individuals and families in our community who have nowhere else to turn for help all while providing meaningful opportunities for volunteers to serve their neighbors in need with love and compassion. Ryan Corry was 10 yrs old when he was volunteering with St. Vincent de Paul. As a 10 yr old he wondered why there were more people in need than there were volunteers. That question carried him through life where he is now the Chief Philanthropy officer for St Vincent de Paul.
