In this teaser, we reflect on this unique school year (virtual & hybrid) and what we have done to address disproportionate discipline in our roles. Some of our liberation lessons include a reinforced emphasis on trusting relationships, strong foundations of culturally-responsive Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (CR-PBIS), restorative practices, teamwork and communication, coaching new teachers, collaborating with parents/caregivers, and, finally, ongoing, intentional & explicit dialogue about race & racialized trauma.
