Running Stitch - A QSOS Podcast
Running Stitch - A QSOS Podcast explores quilt stories, revealing the inner thoughts, feelings, and motivations of contemporary quiltmakers by drawing on Quilters S.O.S. -- Save Our Stories, the long running oral history project created by the Quilt Alliance in 1999.

Love this podcast!!

My podcast experience had been mostly news and politics as I drove to work. But since retiring and needing a mental break from the world I was thrilled to discover Running Stitches. It is not your typical quilting podcast which I enjoy. Your focus on the importance and relevance of quilting beyond the art itself is so interesting. I loved your episodes with Thomas Knauer and Melanie Testa. Keep up the compelling and good work!
A New Kind of Museum

I cannot find the right words (and I LOVe to find the right words) to express how much I enjoy the Running Stitch podcast. Their archives of quilt stories aren’t left to moulder in a basement. Instead they have created an audio museum to curate and educate by juxtaposing old and new. Form followed function to the podcast medium when we couldn’t acquire history the old way, with collected objects. Now, our exhibitions are of sound! As a bonus, audio documentation first blossomed during the Sesquicentennial quilting boom so this project connects so many of us to our mothers and grandmothers during a time of isolation.
inspiring!

i just found this podcast and it is so inspiring! especially the episode about difficult times. i am a theatrical costume maker, furloughed for the summer and i have newly discovered quilting and piecing as a comfort, almost meditative practice, getting me through these crazy times. thank you Quilt Alliance.
QSOS podcast fulfills a longtime goal

I am of course biased (as Quilt Alliance director), but I’m so impressed with this first podcast hosted and co-produced by Janneken Smucker with QA staffer Emma Parker. Janneken has been thinking about this project for many years and it shows. The topics and guests she’s chosen for this first season are right in line with the state of quilting in America in this very intense and complicated year.
