Season Five: Beauty For Ashes With Bonnie O'Neill She Lives Fearless Podcast

    • Christianity

We are talking about beauty from ashes in Season 5. Jesus reminds us in  John 16:33, “In this world, you will have trouble, but take courage, for I have overcome the world.”

God never intends for us to stay stuck in our sin, pain, or deep sorrow. He heals, restores, and calls us onward. Reminding us that in Him, we have great purpose and hope. And that’s the key to the ashes that cover our days in this life.  Christ came to bring beauty from ashes.

In this episode Host, Holly Newton sat down and chatted with special guest, Bonnie O'Neill. They talked about:
Bonnie's faith crisis when her son faced an unexpected diagnosis and  how she reawakened to a stronger faithThe emotional weight so many mothers (and fathers) carry and how the only way to find healing is to go deeper in and attend to what you discover you're carryingThe pivotal role of releasing control if we want to awaken to new hope in the dark seasons of lifeBonnie is an inspirational communicator who is passionate about restoring HOPE to hurting people. She has had a front-row seat to the stress of raising a child with chronic illness, as her son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) at age 5 and two of her siblings were diagnosed with T1D as children. Her new book, Chronic Hope: Raising a Child with Chronic Illness with Grace, Courage, and Love helps readers discover HOPE in the unexpected and challenging seasons of life.
While Chronic Hope was written for parents raising a child with a chronic condition, the themes Bonnie raises in the book are universal. The story of Chronic Hope is ultimately a story of accepting what we did not choose—by learning to release control and accept what can’t be changed. Chronic Hope offers all readers tools for releasing anger, fear, guilt, shame, jealousy, bitterness, and judgment in order to live a life filled with inner-freedom, strength, grace, courage, love, and most of all, hope.
Her first book, My Identity is in Christ, examines the identity struggles of nine biblical women and explores how to break free from those strongholds to live in the freedom God intends for us.
Bonnie is a spiritual director and the Executive Director of the faith-based nonprofit Alpha Mid Atlantic. Bonnie has lived as an expatriate in both Paris and London and currently lives in suburban Philadelphia. She's happiest when in the company of her husband and three adult children.
