Edgewater supports DOE nuclear work at sites throughout the U.S., offering relocation or per diem options to test the waters of your new location. In addition, transferring your security clearance from DOD to DOE is a straightforward process.

    “The DOD Secret is equivalent to an L and the DOD's Top Secret is equivalent to a Q. The reciprocity or conversion, if you have an active clearance going to the same level can occur in as little as a matter of weeks, and maybe another month or two to go up a level. If you have an inactive DOD clearance, it's most likely a similar timeframe as obtaining a clearance for the first time. Right now it's taking about an average of three to six months to get an L and about six to 12 months to get a Q.”

Whereas a civilian might just walk away from their security clearance and say, I really don't want to go through this, I don't need this clearance, and if I give them more details it's going to implicate me in more crimes and I'm going to go to jail. So I'm just gonna go get a different job.”

I love listening to this podcast .I really enjoy the conversations and how they and talk to professionals about cleared jobs. I’m a transitioning service member with a Clearance and this podcast has definitely helped me think about the whole process and how daunting it is. I am binge listening and loving all the helpful tips, tricks and honest upfront conversations with talent managers.

Waste of time

This is recruiters spewing nonsense. It’s not valuable. There are plenty of jobs and they need us more then we need them. Ask for more money. That’s the key take away
