Lessons from a 12 time world record holder - Colin O'Brady
Hey y'all, thanks for checking out this episode!
Today I did a debreif on some of the business and life lessons I learned from competing in 29029.
1. Pain is mandatory, but suffering is optional
2. Type 1 fun vs. Type 2 fun
In this episode I quote Colin O'brady's new book: The 12 Hour Walk. Be sure to check it out!

Givers Gain with Andy Langsam
This is a very special episode for me because I get to interview one of my oldest and best friends. To know Andy Langsam is to love his fun-loving nature and mischievous laugh. Those who know him, though, understand that he has the biggest heart of anyone. He will drop what he is doing in order to help anyone. There are countless stories of Andy doing this and if you know him personally, no doubt you have some stories of your own.
Today, Andy and I talk about how he built a marketing empire over the past 19 years that started in his college dormroom at American University in Washington, DC. His story is remarkable for many reasons.
Andy embodies a kind leader and also has incredibly high standards in his organization. Check out this episode to learn more about how he created a culture full of laughter and how they give to gain.

Hi there! This is a bit of a different episode as I introduce another podcast I started a few months ago.
The No Sunday Scaries Club (www.nosundayscaries.club) was started with the mission of supporting folks who make experience negative emotions when considering what is waiting for them the next morning at work. Our goal is to share the stories of inspriring people to remind our brain that we live in a world of possibility and choice.
If you'd like to learn more please head over to our website where you can also sign up to join our live interviews and workshops: www.nosundayscaries.club
On this episode we spend some time with Ben Zoldan, the CEO of StoryLeaders. He has dedicated his life to helping individuals who work at some of the largets organizations on the planet connect with others using the power of expressing who they are.
He is a beautifully transparent and vulnerable leader and I know you will enjoy you time with him as much as I do!

How can business support employees and clients during a tragedy?
Today, I wanted to address how businesses can communicate with and support their constituents during tragic times. We are all in this together and being able to support each other and provide resources is necessary.
I reference my volunteer work with the Crisis Text Hotline. If you know of someone in need of support please send them to:
https://www.crisistextline.org/
Or have them text: HOME to 741741 for 24/7/365 live support via text messaging.
Thanks for taking the time to listen and hear me out. Conversations like these help me make sense of how we can move forward as a united group following tragic events. -
Org Chart Vs. Chain of Command
Today, I was feeling inspired by an event I attended called The Proving Ground and I wanted to share what I learned.
During the event we had a chance to attempt missions with a group of strangers and we got to see first hand how having an unclear chain of command can lead to dreadful results.
On this episode we will discuss the difference between a "Chain of Command" and an "Org Chart"!
Which one do you have in your business?

Jake & Alyx: Customer Obsession Vs. Competitor Obsession
Today I am joined by a special guest....my wife!
(Truth be told she had no idea what she said "yes" to...I just grabbed her and told her she was joining me to record this podcast..no warning whatsoever!)
Alyx Shore, SVP of Customer Success at Four Winds Interactive joins me to deconstruct what Jeff Bezos meant when he discussed the healthy obsession that Amazon has with their customers.
The basis of our conversation is an excerpt from the book: Invent and Wander. A special thanks to Amanda Churchwell for recommending this book. It is a great read and perfect for any and all entrepreneurs.
