A comedy podcast about shame- because no one roasts you harder than yourself! Each week, psychotherapist-turned-comedian Ely Kreimendahl exploits her therapy skills to talk all-things-shame with a new special guest. Every guest shares a core story of something that once made them spiral HARD, answers both silly and emotionally complicated questions, and even if these conversations are ACCIDENTALLY therapeutic, it's not therapy.... Ely goes ALL IN on sharing her shame, too. Does coming together to laugh at our shame and the often inherently comic absurdity of being human make it all easier to tolerate?! Listen in and see what you think. We'll laugh, we'll cry…. we'll SPIRAL.

"Am I Breaking The Contract Of This Bagel Place?" w/ Django Gold
This week I spiraled out with the hilarious and thoughtful writer & stand up comedian Django Gold! (The Late Show With Stephen Colbert) We talked social awkwardness, persecution complexes, the weirdness of being an introverted comedian, accepting your flaws, parading around your job with a beard full of ice cream, torturing yourself with anxiety, the benefits of getting older, spectacularly bombing a stand up set and ON YOUR BIRTHDAY, unintentionally breaking the social contract of a bagel place, and so much more. Django also had to face off with maybe my MOST gruesome shame game scenario yet- and while it's not a win or lose game, we both agreed he crushed it.
Django just released a brand-new hour-long stand up special called Bag Of Tricks, and you should GO WATCH IT IMMEDIATELY! IT'S SO FUNNY! Stream it on Youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lk4rV2_Z4sw
and follow Django on IG @djangoindustries and Twitter @django to stay in the know on upcoming stand up shows.

"Okay, I'm A Monster" w/ Allison Raskin
This week I spiraled out with the delightful & brilliant writer, podcaster, and mental health advocate Allison Raskin! (Overthinking About You, Just Between Us)
We talked the nuance around mental health diagnoses, all about OCD, insecurities around friendship, self-compassion as the antithesis of shame, the liberating potential of knowing your own schemas, and even meta-processed a few moments INVOLVING EACH OTHER that made us both spiral, if you can believe.
If you're not already listening, go binge Allison's podcast Just Between Us, buy her new book Over Thinking About You, about the intersection of mental health & romantic relationships, follow her on IG & Twitter @allisonraskin and TikTok @allisonraskinbaby, AND follow her mental health account on IG @emotionalsupportlady! We talked fear of people leaving if you dare to share your feelings, the difficulty of actually implementing your coping skills when things are POPPING OFF, giving a gift to your inner child and carrying all previous versions of you inside yourself, letting go of trying to be a "better person," somatic therapies, striking out in baseball and SO MUCH MORE.

"Congratulations On Your Perfect Parents" w/ Lane Moore
This week I spiraled out with wonderfully deep, refreshingly honest and truly hilarious writer, actor, comedian, musician AND podcaster Lane Moore! (Tinder Live, You Will Find Your People) We talked shame and relational trauma, the damage done by unrealistic and grossly prescriptive self-help books, dealing with the incessant self-critical DJ playing the worst songs over and over in your head, making art from pain, the struggle to believe there's nothing wrong with you, the difficulty of giving yourself the grace & compassion you freely give others, and SO MUCH MORE.
Check out Lane's incredible podcast I Thought It Was Just Me, available exclusively on Patreon ( https://www.patreon.com/lanemoore) and buy her freaking amazing and relatable books: How To Be Alone and You Will Find Your People: How To Make Meaningful Friendships As An Adult.

"The Shame Of Breaking Someone's Heart" w/ Carly Montag
This week I spiraled out with hilarious & deeply relatable stand up comic, podcaster (and fellow neurotic Jew) Carly Montag!
We talked the pervasive fear of making others' feel bad, coming out as queer via an improv class revelation, Jewish guilt and hypervigilance, the shame of feeling stupid, internalized homophobia and the pressure to marry a nice Jewish boy, the rocky learning curve of your first relationships and the regrets that follow and SO MUCH MORE.

"Your Dad Dies And You Have Gay Sex" w/ Joel Kim Booster
This week I spiraled out with incredibly talented comic, writer and actor Joel Kim Booster! (Fire Island, The Other Two, Shrill)
We talked the impact of growing up extremely religious and queer, fear of going to hell and terrifying fantasies of what hell would be like, caring way too much of what others' think about you, being young and extra thirsty, people pleasing tendencies (except for with the TSA,) the journey of going from shameful to shameless, a dead Dad orgy, masochistically name searching yourself on Twitter and SO MUCH MORE.
Joel has written for and/or appeared in so many shows you probably already love: Shrill, The Other Two, Big Mouth, Loot, Search Party and Praise Petey, to name a few. You can and SHOULD stream Joel's stand up special Joel Kim Booster: Psychosexual on Netflix (IT IS SO FUNNY,) and if you haven't already seen it, go watch the hilarious and moving and iconic film Fire Island RIGHT NOW, which he wrote and stars in, and is an overall absolute delight. And stay glued to his socials @ihatejoelkim for upcoming tour dates!

I have followed Ely on social media for a long time and I can’t believe I’ve only just started listening, but I’m so glad I did! I’m a new mom and Ely’s insight is so valuable and she is so refreshing and relatable. And everything non parenting related is wonderful as well!!
