    Tinkerbell’s dad

    Tinkerbell’s dad

    G’day, mates!
On today’s show: Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness’s marriage is over and the world (well, mostly our mothers) is mourning, Russell Brand says the mainstream media is out to get him after he is accused of multiple sexual assaults, and who and what is a Tube Girl? Plus, no - Paul Mescal is not Daisy Edgar Jones’s new boyfriend, Drew Barrymore faces backlash for returning to work and are the men OK? Why do they think about The Roman Empire so much?
This week, Zara recommended ‘The Pandemic Skip’ by Katy Schneider in The Cut. Mich recommended ‘The Ozempic Era of Weight Loss’ on The Daily.
This episode was audio produced by Annabelle Lee.
Big thanks to Dan Murphy’s Decoded Wine Awards 2023 for making this episode possible. If you want to try one of the award-winning wines, head in-store or online to Dan Murphy’s and shop.

    IN CONVERSATION: Dolly Alderton

    IN CONVERSATION: Dolly Alderton

    Why hello, everyone!
Today, we are joined by one of the UK’s most prominent authors, Dolly Alderton. Some of you might be thinking, but wait! You guys have already interviewed Dolly! And you’d be right. Back in 2020, in the depths of lockdown, we spoke to Dolly over Zoom about her life and career. But, given how much we adore her, and given how she was so highly requested by you guys, we thought: why not make her the first person to ever return to Shameless In Conversation? But this is an In Conversation episode with a twist: Of course, Mich asked Dolly about what life has been like in the three years since we last spoke, but given she’s the ultimate Agony Aunt (or sister), we also wanted to pick her brain on your big life dilemmas. We did a callout and asked you what you needed Dolly’s advice on, so today, we opened the Shameless Mailbag and put Dolly’s marvelous mind to work.

The drama of Dance Moms: Part two

    Helloooo, friends!
Welcome to the second and final part of our series on the drama of Dance Moms. It was the reality TV show that captured the world’s attention: a group of very young girls, their overbearing mothers, and a dance coach so intense, some called her methods abusive.
This episode was researched by Eilish Gilligan and audio produced by Annabelle Lee.

Jimmy Fallon is the latest talk show host to be outed as a terrible boss, the video going viral after the VMAS, and finally: we do a massive deep dive on everything there is to know about Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis asking a judge for leniency after their friend was found guilty of raping two women.
This week, Zara recommended The End Credits by Patty Lin. Mich recommended Olivia Rodrigo’s sophomore album, Guts.

BONUS: The cancellation of the unpaid internship

Your September bonus episode is here, mates!

Last month, Mich spoke about our top tips for nailing a job application and interview. This month, Zara came to the table with something that’s also slightly career-y: the unpaid internship has basically died.

    IN CONVERSATION: Steven Bartlett

    IN CONVERSATION: Steven Bartlett

Hello! Welcome to the first episode of our very special In Conversation series.
Today on the show, we are joined by one of the most recognisable business and media personalities in Britain, Steven Bartlett. In 2014, he co-founded a social media marketing agency called Social Chain, which cemented the then-22-year-old as one of the leaders in the social media marketing world. Three years later, he created his podcast, The Diary of a CEO, which is one of the biggest podcasts in the UK right now. Two years ago, he was announced as the youngest-ever investor of BBC’s Dragon’s Den. All were achieved by the age of 31. In this chat, Steven talks about everything: from being expelled from school and dropping out of uni, his relationship with religion, the reason he never thought he’d end up in such a healthy romantic relationship, what it’s like coming into money, and why he never sets an alarm.
This episode was audio produced by Annabelle Lee.
