God shows us that while David is the chosen king, he is vulnerable to sin with tragic consequences to those under his care. Our perfect King Jesus, was infallible and His perfection brings saving consequences to those He shepherds.

Wise believers consider themselves less than others, pursuing peace and trusting in the fruits of Godly living. such wisdom is produced in and through God who gives wisdom to His children.

James teaches us the incredible power and danger of our tongues. Our tongues reveal our hearts, which need changing by the the grace of God so that we might bless God and not destroy others.

James demonstrates that while we are saved by faith alone, the type of faith that saves us will be accompanied by works.

James teaches us to not show partiality in how we treat fellow Christians. If we show partiality we reject the normal way that God works and we confuse the witness of God's mercy to the world.
