Jen Bedford-Studio B Interior Design
Episode #11: Welcome to the She Builds Show, I'm your host, Stefanie Olson and for the month of October, we are focusing on interior designers, and today I have a special guest, Jen Bedford of Studio B in Chico, CA. Jen focuses deeply on the way her clients live-in and use their homes to design highly functional and beautiful spaces as unique as the families that live in them.
Studio B. approaches interior design from both an architectural and construction perspective. Perfecting and balancing the floor plan in the early phases of each project is the key to her success.
Episode #10: Welcome to the She Builds Show, I'm your host, Stefanie Olson and for the month of October, we are focusing on interior designers, we're going to feature a few women and interview them as well. I want to share with you some insight into my experience with interior design, a passion for me and something I truly enjoy. I don't have any formal training, my education came through experience, actually a lot more failure in this area than success. But when I was a kid, my mother, she just has an eye. She's got an eye for design and an eye for detail and for beautiful things. And she passed this ability on to me.

Habits and Sacrifice
Episode #9: Welcome to the She Builds Show, I'm your host, Stefanie Olson. Recently, I've picked up two books, Atomic Habits, and The ONE Thing by Gary Keller, Atomic Habits is a very practical guide to help you keep the habits you want, and rid yourself of the habits you dislike. My biggest take away from this book so far is that changing your environment to create the habit you desire. He has a bunch of different options of how to help you gain the habits you want, but this one, the changing of your environment really stuck with me. We all have things we want to remove from our lives, but we struggle because we have formed these unconscious habit loops that once it starts, we just do the thing we said we wouldn't do. Sound familiar?

You Are A Rock Star
Episode #8: Welcome to the She Builds Show, I'm your host, Stefanie Olson. Today's title of this episode is, You Are A Rock Star. Something you might not know about me is I was born to be a rock star. There is an undeniable power living inside me, and as a kid growing up, I truly believed I was born to be a freaking rock star. I'm 100000% believe that in my soul, I could sell out a 500,000 seat venue. I would sell it out, I would kill it, I would play it. That type of confidence and power lives inside of me on the daily... The only problem is, I can't sing, but, the girl can dance. Dang it, I can't seem to sing to save for my life. I think God knew that I would just lay it and I would take over the world if I have the gift of singing, so he only gave me the ability to dance. But man, if there were rock stars that could lip sync, I will be famous, I would be one of them. I would be running concert tours everywhere, and it would be amazing, that is the fire that lives inside of me. Are you a rock star too?
Top 9 Self Care Tips
Episode #7: Welcome to the She Builds Show, I'm your host, Stefanie Olson. Today, I want to talk about self-care. This is an area I've been discovering for quite some time. How much is too much? Is it selfish? What's a good routine? Today, I help to answer some of those questions with my top 9 self-care tips, because 10 just seemed to mainstream. The biggest feedback I can give you about self-care is, you just can't take my routine and insert it into your life, you're different from me, you have your own set of unique strengths and weaknesses, and so do I. But hopefully you can take these 9 self care tips and mold them to fit you and your life.

Building Confidence and Respect
Episode #6: Welcome to the She Builds Show, I'm your host, Stefanie Olson. Today, I want to talk about what it's like to be a woman in a male-dominated industry, it's my life pretty much every day. But even from childhood, I always fit in with the guys and had a hard time fitting in with the girls, it never came easy to me to just have girlfriends. I'm pretty confident in my abilities and as a young child, this can make for some pretty catty relationships, so I preferred hanging out with the boys over investing in female relationships. The skill of being a good friend to a woman in my life has had to come through my maturity, and I highly value these relationships and know how important they are to me now, but when it didn't come easy as a kid, it was really difficult, so being in an industry where it's mainly male-dominated, for me, I kind of feel right at home. But, I also know that some women, for them, it can be really intimidating. My dream is for the construction industry to not feel that way, for women to be able to come in willingly and get welcomed with open arms. I'm hoping to be the doorway for women to come through and feel comfortable, but I see the answer to maybe some of this problem, the men in the industry need to really combine forces with the women, we need to be on the same team, we need to really have them encourage, teach and hire women who want to learn and just make it something that's normal to see men and women on a job site... That would be my dream.

Feels Good, Hits Home, Inspires
I’ve only listened to episodes 6 and 7 (they were downloaded and I was in the car), but I’ll be listening to all of them and will look forward to more.
How cool is it that people (like Stephanie) are willing to show the world who they are behind the “curtain,” which helps us feel like we’re not alone? Then, she does the work for us: identifying how we can do better, feel better, and be better.
Valuable! Thank you!
Authentic and Real
After so many years of watching you grow as a person, wife and mother, this journey of life and passion to be authentic and help others is a true inspiration for others to follow. You are making this real and putting yourself out there and sharing the ups and downs of what most people go through in life, and yet wont share. This, without a doubt, will bring value to those that listen and follow. Love and praise!!
