    8 - Broadway & Ballots

We are doing something new on this week's episode!
Gia kicks off her Suffragist Saga with Virginia Minor, the woman who kind of got the ball rolling on getting the 19th Amendment ratified. Layla talks about the first black woman to have a play produced on Broadway. I guess you can say this episode is kind of a big deal.

I LOVE THIS PODCAST! Where has this been all of my life?!

Not only are Gia and Layla such funny, entertaining hosts, but this podcast is so necessary in life. I can’t believe I haven’t heard about most of these women featured. I highly recommend Episode 5 where we listen to the most incredible stories about Olivia de Havilland. As an actress, I was shocked I didn’t know more about her. I also loved Episode 10 and learning about Lyudmila Pavlichenko (double checked that spelling) who is one of the most successful snipers in history! Why aren’t we seeing a movie about her? In that episode, we also learn about Dr. Mabel Ping-Hua Lee, a suffragist and the first Chinese woman to earn her Ph.D in the US. This is such a must listen for anyone who wants to learn more about incredible women that never made our history books.
