236 - Trapped in a Mexican Prison: Dr. Jodi Green’s Incredible Story and How Chiropractic & Mindset Set Her Free

236 - Trapped in a Mexican Prison: Dr. Jodi Green’s Incredible Story and How Chiropractic & Mindset Set Her Free

Picture this: you’ve landed in your tropical location for the week-long chiro retreat and vacation you’ve been dreaming about, when all of a sudden you are being questioned, arrested, and sent to prison for an unknown length of time. Vacation is very much over, nightmare scenario has begun, what do you do?
That was the experience of our guest today, Dr. Jodi Green, fellow chiropractor who was wrongfully imprisoned in Mexico for 28 days. How she handled and ultimately got through this experience is a true testament to the power of the mind (and the value of an adjustment, as you’ll hear how she bargained chiropractic care for goods and safety). It’s a story you have to hear to believe, and proof that the mindset principles she discusses can truly set you free, regardless of your current situation.
During their conversation, Dr. Jodi reveals the harsh reality of living in a Mexican jail, the corruption she encountered, and how she honed her mindset and later developed The Purple Principles that she uses in her coaching business now.

235 - Delivery Matters: Learning to Use Kind Candor in Your Practice and Your Life feat. Kirby

235 - Delivery Matters: Learning to Use Kind Candor in Your Practice and Your Life feat. Kirby

Dr. Lauryn is once again joined by Kirby – and don’t worry, you’re not getting fired – to talk about a topic that’s been top of mind for them lately which is how to develop and utilize kind candor in the workplace.
When it comes to feedback and coaching, which side of the pendulum do you fall on? Are you overly nice and avoid conflict at all costs, hoping the problem just magically resolves itself? Or possibly way on the other side, where you put the brutal in brutal honesty, crushing employee’s feelings as well as their chances of success?
This episode is all about how to find that middle ground – stay on the road as Dr. Lauryn puts it – and be able to deliver honest and necessary feedback in a way that is still kind to the person and gives the best chance at future success.
Dr. Lauryn and Kirby kick things off by defining what exactly kind candor is, before discussing how to develop it within hiring, the idea of staying in the middle of the road, why being prepared for the conversations can be helpful, walk through examples, and much more.

234 - Curing Decision Fatigue: Five Steps to Take You From Identification to Resolution

Ever feel exhausted with the amount of decisions (big or small) you are asked to make on a daily basis? You may be experiencing what is now known as decision fatigue.
Decision fatigue is a phenomenon (as opposed to a diagnosable medical condition) where the more decisions a person makes over the course of a day, the more physically, mentally and emotionally depleted they become. As practice owners, a lot of us likely experience this overwhelming negative feeling and it may very well be ruining your life! Ok, that’s a bit dramatic, sure, but it also might not be.
In this week’s episode, Dr. Lauryn is recording solo to discuss this topic of decision fatigue and how we can all learn to identify and resolve it within all areas of our lives, but most importantly within our practices.

Have you considered adding cold therapy to your care routine? Maybe you’ve been inundated with the ads for at home tubs and all the different ways exposure to cold water can benefit you and always wondered what the deal was? Well, if you’ve ever wanted to learn about the true power of deliberate cold exposure, then what better person to learn from than the woman who literally helped create the modern cold therapy industry?
This week, Dr. Lauryn is joined by Adrienne Jezick to discuss all things deliberate cold exposure: its power, its benefits, the misconceptions and more.

She is also the creator of The Morozko Method, a sensory immersive Deliberate Cold Exposure guidance practice. Dr. Alissa ,

Did we just become best friends?!?

I saw a reel on IG (it was Dr. Lauryn) and she was speaking such truth about being a Mom, a biz owner, a chiro etc but did it in such a fun and funny way that I thought “who is this doc?” I clicked her profile, found her pod link and have been listening now for a couple of months. She brings a welcomed and appreciated sense of humor & realness to the table. I’m a fan that she’s not some whack-a-doo chiro behind a microphone (I find this all too prevalent in our profession and I hate it.) I can see us having drinks (or dranks) and am so happy by chance to have found her! Thanks Doc, keep ‘em coming.

Hyunjung “HJ” Lee ,

THIS PODCAST HELPED ME GET MY POWER BACK

Have been listening to Dr. Lauryn for the past 3 months even though I’ve known about her podcast ~4 years ago while in chiro school… I WISH I listened way back because she drops GOLD.
After being an unhappy associate… I finally took a huge leap of faith and started my own business. Through the organized and not so organized chaos of being a new business owner, Dr. Lauryn has brought me so much mental peace that things are going to be ok lol; even though it seems like a mess in the moment.
She Slays is a MUST LISTEN TO podcast because there’s not enough chiropractors out there, especially woman chiros; that will be raw and authentic like she is in her podcasts!!!

She’s funny, witty, and raw which is what l think we all need while navigating life and practice when things can get super stressful and hectic! Dr. Lauryn makes learning the in and outs of business fun again. Would give She Slays 10 stars if I could!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
