Sherry’s 10-year struggle with alcohol ended in surrender to God and a 1,000 mile bike trip. She started She Surrenders out of a place of needing to hear more humor and encouragement for women of faith struggling in their secrets of addiction. Her heart is to share everything about recovery and what it looks like to surrender to God and the life He is calling you to live. Whatever you struggle with, you are in the right place to find encouragement and comfort that you are not alone. We all have our stuff.
Sober Circle Holidays - Part 1: Holiday Prep
This is the first of a four-part series for everyone. Whether you are newly sober, trying to get sober, or want to gain more confidence for yourself as you navigate through the next month, this series is for you. It is also a great source of information for you if someone you love is going through this for the first time. We will help you answer the question, what can you do to be supportive through the season?
Today's episode is all about prepping for the holidays. There is a lot of it this time of year, but we’re not talking about decorating, cooking, and shopping. What are you doing to prepare yourself to embrace the holidays sober?
Join Kelly, Michelle, and Terry, and myself as we share our personal experiences with you in hopes you take away a tip to strengthen your sober muscle this holiday season.
Episode 2 of Sober Circle
This week on the Sober Circle we have Sherry, Lynne, Debbie, Karen, and Kali at the table and we are talking about Rock Bottoms! What is Rock Bottom and do you need to have one to start a life of sobriety? Join us for the discussion as we discuss our own rock bottoms and you will hear that this looks different for all of us.
Are you a new girl in sober life? If so, you will like listening to Kari today. She recently joined our Joyful Surrender Group, has been knocking down the sober days ever since, and recently celebrated thirty days of sobriety! She has been at this milestone before, but this time is different, and she wants to share that with you. I am grateful that Kari is sharing her story in the early days of sobriety. Sharing her story is a prime example of giving back in recovery where the giver benefits as well. Sharing our struggles and achievements is empowering, and in turn, we all win. Thank you, Kari, for stepping up to the microphone here at She Surrenders!
Welcome to the Sober Circle!
Welcome to The Sober Circle, where we record conversations about all things God, sobriety, how we get there, and stay there. We also answer questions from our listeners, focus on topics in the media today (of which there are many), or whatever is on our hearts. Together with Terri, Debbie, Kali, Michelle, Karen, Lynne, and myself, we have valuable conversations, and we want to share them with you. Sometimes you will hear all of us in the conversation and other times just a few of us. Just know that the time spent in the Sober Circle will be informative, inspiring, and faith-based. We want to show you what can happen when you make God bigger than the bottle and surrender your addiction to Him.
Episode 1 of Sober Circle
Welcome to the Sober Circle!! Today we are talking about the importance of community in recovery. This verse from Ecclesiastes 4:10 sums it up well:
"If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.”
Thanks for being here, and we welcome your comments and questions!
Christina is a friend from Melbourne, Australia. I like to say she represents the international chapter of She Surrenders! I love her, her humble heart, and her accent. She shares her story of building this life of increased, accumulating busyness until it fell and alcohol remained. I appreciated hearing more of Christina’s story and so will you. Thank you, Christina, for sharing your story of what happens when you say yes to God and no to alcohol.
