We Recommend: 5 Podcast Shows Worth Binging

Podcast Show #1: UES Episode 619

Raychel: My first podcast show recommendation is from The Unstoppable Entrepreneur Show with Kelly Roach – Episode 619: The Stages of Hyper Growth.

This isn’t typically a topic that I would have gravitated towards. I don’t necessarily think our business is in the stage of hyper growth yet. However, I have devoured this episode! It’s very practical about what you should be focusing on when it comes to sales, building teams, and marketing in general. It helped confirm to me that where we are with RAYMA Team is exactly where we need to be.

Kelly Roach knows what she is talking about in this episode! She’s done the work and this episode is chalk full of wisdom!

Podcast Show #2: Unlocking Us with Brene Brown

Mandy: My recommendation for a podcast show is from Unlocking Us with Brene Brown – the episode from January 13, 2021 called “Brene on Words, Actions, Dehumanization, and Accountability.”

The things she talks about are so relevant to where we are in our culture, in our nation, and how we get back to having respectful conversations with people who have differing opinions. There were parts where I could have cried because she talks about the words we say that dehumanize people who are different from us.

It’s a very eye-opening episode that makes you realize how much work we still have ahead of us when it comes to building connection and understanding each other.

Podcast Show #3: Glambition® Radio with Ali Brown

Raychel: The third podcast show we want to share is from Glambition® Radio with Ali Brown – episode 244 with Negotiation Expert, Alexandra Carter.

It’s a fascinating story of how women can grow their skills at negotiating. I recommend it whether you are in business or not. It gave such a different perspective than I’ve ever heard before.

Podcast Show #4: Hope, Through History

Mandy: So, I heard about this podcast show from Brene Brown in the Fall of 2020. Hope, Through History is a series of five episodes that explores how people held onto hope during trying times in the history of our world.

It was a fascinating show to listen to because we tend to think that what we have been experiencing over the last few years are things no one has ever experienced before. And that’s just not true. It was good to hear how our country got through the ...

69: How To Avoid Burnout and Compassion Fatigue

69: How To Avoid Burnout and Compassion Fatigue

Burnout. Compassion fatigue. Pandemic fatigue. The human race is experiencing the reality of these mental and emotional stresses every day. In today’s episode, we share with you the audio from a Coffee with the Coaches Facebook LIVE show we did on our page in January 2021. This content comes from leadership content that we created for one of our corporate clients and it is a much-needed, timely message that we can all benefit from! Grab your coffee and let’s discover how to avoid burnout and compassion fatigue…

3 Ways to Avoid Burnout and Compassion Fatigue:

Tip 1: Be compassionate and caring of yourself!

Most of us have harsh inner critics who judge us, put us down, and punish us when we make mistakes. As long as you have a tape in your head playing negativity and beating you up all day long, you’ll find it hard to be compassionate to your patients and their families. Seek out a trained professional, like a coach or counselor, to help you with your mindset. Being compassionate and caring toward yourself will go a long way in avoiding burnout and compassion fatigue!

Tip 2: Manage your stress and emotions by UNPLUGGING from social media.

People tend to forget that burnout and compassion fatigue can happen due to a lack of fun. Make it a point to schedule times for fun and relaxation every week. Start the gratitude journal. Implement steps for a better night sleep. Stay off of social media for 24-48 hours each week!!!

Tip 3: Re-connect with your WHY.

When you know your why, and remind yourself of it often, you will keep the feelings of indifference and carelessness at bay. It’s an important step to stay focused and avoid burnout and compassion fatigue.

    Quotes from this episode:

“The inner bully is something we all need to learn how to take care of.” ~Raychel Perman, She Who Overcomes™ Podcast episode 69

“If you can’t tear yourself away from the train wreck of comments on social media, that’s a big sign that you need to unplug from social media!” ~Mandy B. Anderson, She Who Overcomes™ Podcast episode 69

68: Where Do We Go From Here? A Conversation About Navigating Conflict and Opposing Opinions

68: Where Do We Go From Here? A Conversation About Navigating Conflict and Opposing Opinions

Welcome to 2021, the year where everybody has an opinion and not enough of us lead by listening. It’s time to have a conversation about navigating conflict and opposing opinions in a way that leads to a solution and positive change. Finding unity in the midst of opposing opinions is going to take some work. Today, we share with you an active listening technique that builds trust and common ground, and diffuses the behaviors and emotions that fan the flames of conflict.

Conflict transformation skills are a necessary part of leadership training. Every She Who Overcomes™ who activates this skill will be a better leader because of it. (The same goes for the HIM’s, too.) This technique will help you rebuild respect. It will help you connect with those who see the world differently than you do. Are you ready to learn about H.E.A.R.™? Grab your coffee and let’s dive in!

When navigating conflict via the written word, ask yourself these questions:

    * Is that what you really want to say?* Can this be taken the wrong way or blown out of proportion?* Is there a better way to say this?* Does this need to be said at all or is it just feeding my ego?

Questions to start asking more often to help navigate conflict and build trust:

    * This seems especially important to you. Can you tell me more about this?* Help me understand your point of view better – can you tell me more about this?* When did your views on this topic start to change?

    Quotes from this episode:

“Being able to communicate in the midst of high emotions is a skill we all need to have.” ~Raychel Perman, She Who Overcomes™ Podcast

“Learning to truly listen to others is one way we can begin to create unity.”~Raychel Perman, She Who Overcomes™ Podcast

“Humble people are not doormats. You can still be a very strong and assertive, courageous, confident person and have humility at the same time.”~Mandy B. Anderson, She Who Overcomes™ Podcast

    67: 2020 Year in Review

    67: 2020 Year in Review

Welcome to the final episode of the year 2020! We are about to step into a new year and leave this chaotic one behind. One of my favorite things to do at the close of a year is to review what I learned, how I grew, and what I want to take with me moving forward. This episode is a glimpse into my 2020 Year in Review, and I’m sharing it with you to help you think about your own year. Grab your coffee, and maybe a pen and paper, and let’s do a 2020 Year in Review together!

    Your 2020 Year in Review:

You might be feeling many things as you think about the year that was 2020. Expectant? Relief? I think one of the best things we can step into 2021 with is the realization that there will be bumps along the road. There will be things we didn’t anticipate. One of the best realizations though is that we will step into 2021 with the reality of the pandemic still happening, but also new things on the horizon. Knowing all of this should make us feel stronger! More ready. There will always be things we can’t control as well as things we can control.

My hope is that doing this year in review with me will help you get some clarity and direction for your own life moving forward. You’ve overcome a lot, my friend. And you’re more resilient than you realize.

What to expect from the podcast in 2021:

I’ve got an exciting announcement! Starting in February 2021, the She Who Overcomes™ Podcast will be hosted by myself AND Raychel Perman!
