What unfold is a heartfelt production with Chinese myths and legends that would tap into the collective unconsciousness of the audience and allow connection with their inner-self. Diana Friedberg, a film producer from California, said what he enjoyed most about he show was the spiritual message. He further commented that “the show was amazing. Great energy, great spiritual optimism. The vibrancy of all the performers was wonderful.”

And if this doesn’t nudge your spirit, Chinese literary stories and characters that were true representation of ancient Chinese societies at different dynasties would bring out faith in divinity and heaven. Leo Saul, editor-in-chief of a community newspaper in Toronto, commented on the show saying that “I think the beauty of Shen Yun is the way it brings a celestial message of positivity and goodness and love in a very entertaining manner that ordinary people relate with.”

These are not the only aspects of the show that will touch your heart. Graceful dances, enchanting choreography, hauntingly beautiful songs by the symphony orchestra, the vivid backdrop and many others would be of great enjoyment. Breathing Life into a Lost Culture – Shen Yun Performing Arts

Breathing Life into a Lost Culture – Shen Yun Performing Arts

What are the Chinese people like? What are their most treasured values and traditions and the true representation of the Chinese people everywhere? These answers lie in Shen Yun Phoenix shows and it is coming to Ikeda Theater at Mesa Arts Center from Feb. 28 to Mar.10 ,2013 .

With its mission of reviving 5000 years of Chinese culture, Shen Yun Performing Arts has earned the highest praises from people of all walks of life. Marilyn Giardino, a college professor of world mythology and filmmaker for 25 years, was thrilled after seeing the beautiful dance, hearing the magnificent music, and was overwhelmed by the soul of the performance. She went on further to say that “the show for me is a spiritual trip to China, in the heart and mind of the people, maybe not China today, but in the hearts and minds of people everywhere, there is a soul, there is the soul of the Chinese people.”

With a glut of performances coming from China, questions come to mind about the genuinity of these performances. Is the history told the real history? Are the supposedly heros and heroines accounted by moral values of international humanity? Sandra Finkelstein, CEO of 2Bempowered and an inspirational writer, commented that Shen Yun “is very nice and soothing, and you see the pleasure and the freedom and the happiness and the joy, where that tends to be more, like I said the Communist-typed dance is a little more tactical and firm. Just more representative of the regime.”

Based in New York, Shen Yun is drawing upon talents of Chinese dancers and musiciansfrom all over the world, to present a rich and divine culture that is on the brink of destruction. As suggested by Kate Nelson, owner of a music school, people who have never seen Shen Yun should “come with open-mind, come with an open-heart, and just sit and let your eyes enjoy the delightful, delightful, magnificent performance.” Gammage Tickets for shen Yun  Phoenix show can be purchased online at http://www.azshows.com/TheaterTickets

Shen Yun Performances – Ancient Chinese Garden Backdrop

Shen Yun Performances – Ancient Chinese Garden Backdrop

Shen Yun performance’s garden backdrop has richly ornamented buildings, exquisite flowers, and rare tree. It is perfectly positioned in deeply-layered fashion and their placement containing profound meaning.

Shen Yun moves through mountains, crags, valleys, fertile basin lands, down to the subtropical evergreen forests of Southeast Asia. Digital backdrops bring scenes from 5,000 years of history to the modern stage. State-of-the-art technology is used to depict the natural world as well as ancient Chinese art, including classical Chinese gardens and the heavenly scenes often portrayed in Buddhist paintings.

Ancient Chinese gardens are often displayed in the backdrop of some of Shen Yun’s dances. Those gardens have held profound meaning for Chinese people.

The Taoist inspired its followers to be profoundly conscious of the process of change in nature and the face of nature is clearly expressed in the design of landscapes and in the taoist buildings.

The Taoist principle of yin and yang also manifests in the balance of the garden’s elements of its buildings. In the Chinese gardens, Water and stone, shadow and light, inside and outside are balanced to manifest the Dao, or Way of Nature.

Restoration of a Long Lost Memory – True Awakening with Shen Yun Performing Arts

Restoration of a Long Lost Memory – True Awakening with Shen Yun Performing Arts

The quest for a memory that has been lost for eternity. The search for a higher calling that has been hidden from mankind. Or simply a reflection of one’s true self. These are some of the very profound words that audiences have used after they saw this AZ performing arts. It is Shen Yun Performing Arts and it is coming to Ikeda Theater at Mesa Arts Center from Feb. 28 to Mar.3 and Orpheum Theatre on Mar.10

A glimpse of life or better life beyond our earthly world that is displayed through wonderfuldance and music has been the talk by many people. Gordon Quan, lawyer and mayor pro tem of the city of Houston, who attended the performance at Houston on Dec. 22, 2011, said what he saw were “celestial bodies which you normally wouldn’t see in a dance performance.” He went on further to elaborate that “I think they always focus on the moral right and a higher calling, looking to not just this life but the next life too.”

Greg Van, a world-renown conductor who attended the performance at San Francisco the past week, had always been perplexed by some of the most difficult questions about the meaning of life. He was very pleased with the idea of how paying “homage to a higher calling, a memory of where we all have come from, and why we are here, it is very good, it is very good practice to remind people, even though they might not remember, it is a very good practice to expose them to these ideas. So if they should search more, they can find the truth it speaks of in the memory.”

When dreams come to life in a visual and musical extravaganza and ancient stories are told in a modern setting, people of different culture, races or ages can deeply appreciate what Shen Yun has to offer. Tickets to this unique experience can be purchased online atwww.azshows.com
