Interesting and enjoyable

I really enjoy the podcasts and the details of Victorian life. There are occasional errors that annoy me, but I suspect they are relying on memory when the subject veers off course.

Too verbose and indirect…

This podcast is far more about the two hosts talking to each other - and either going wildly off topic, or taking way too long to get on (and stay on) the chosen topic of the week.

Example: two maids a missing. Lots of talk about the Christmas carol, then offshoots of the Carol… In other episodes, far more of the episode is spent on cross banter, and the hosts being clever, then about possible articles about the topic… and what the authors of those articles may or may not have thought about it - ALL WITHOUT ACTUALLY GETTING ON TOPIC.

There have been episodes that only spent a relative few minutes on the topic, out of the total length of the episode: so what’s the point.

If you are going to chose the topic then truly work the topic. If there really isn’t that much to say, because the topic was so light - then don’t choose that topic.
