Short Intros Ep.1 - Philosophy Book Summaries by Wise Words

    • Self-Improvement

Hello good people and welcome to our new series 'Short Intros.'

We are going to be moving on from our Roam Recap series to focus on summarising books from the 'Very Short Introduction (VSI)' series published by Oxford University Press.

The VSI is a book series that introduces different subjects in a concise manner and is aimed at a general audience but written by experts. If you haven’t heard of them go and check them out. They are amazing and give you a real insight into practically any topic you can think of. I think there are around 630 of them as we speak and they bring out new ones every year, so if you ever feel like you need to dive into a subject, these books are perfect.

Today we are reviewing 'A very Short Introduction to Philosophy.' We explore the three main questions posed in the book such as; what should we do? how do we know? and what am I? Each of these questions has been tackled by many famous philosophers and so we touch on a lot of their work throughout this recording. We also explore a lot of the isms such as materialism, idealism, dualism, rationalism, empiricism, scepticism and more.

If this sounds of interest, do give it a listen and if you enjoy what you hear, do let us know, whether that be by leaving a like, following us or subscribing to our channel, it all makes a difference.
