Podcast host Jackie Tantillo is proud to announce that "Should Have Listened To My Mother Podcast" is a 2023 Peoples Choice Podcast Award Nominee. The show is an ongoing conversation about mothers/maternal role models and the roles they play/played in our lives. Did your mom influence you by her actions or words or both? Are you who you are today because of, or in spite of, your mother? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from others about who and/or what shaped them into who they are today. My guests, some of which share similar backgrounds, interestingly enough, have completely different futures. Why is that?

I hope you enjoy these timeless oral history recordings of the role mothers and maternal figures have played throughout society. The impact these women have on our lives is insurmountable.

His mother, Shottie, had several children to take care of and was distraught as well. She tried to guide her son, but it took fifteen years in prison before she saw her son turn his life around. He now understands that his mother was trying to help him, but he wasn't ready to listen. Now Anthony is speaking with and listening to many young kids in similar situations and offering words of encouragement and advice.

Mothers Are The Culture Keepers with Guest Founder of Sovereign Eats, Moksha. Looking Back at S2E41

Mothers Are The Culture Keepers with Guest Founder of Sovereign Eats, Moksha. Looking Back at S2E41

My Guest, Moksha, is the founder of Sovereign Eats, a wellness and raw food company where she advocates for health and wellbeing. Born and raised on the Caribbean island Country, Grenada, just north of Trinidad and Tobago, her relationship with the earth and indigenous foods of Grenada are still dear to her heart. When you hear Moksha's stories you'll find that from a very young age she thought outside the box, outside of the traditions of her culture and I admire that quite a bit. She held her ground according to her beliefs, not those based on her country's historical past. Moksha will share stories of her mother, Cecilia, through out this episode.

“She Taught Me About Determination, Perseverance and Unconditional Love” with Guest Author and Retired Professor Emeritus, Robert W. Norris

This is the story of a mom who was a dreamer and a rebel. She's one of a large family raised during the depression, so she knew well enough about hard work and empty stomachs. And according to my guest, Robert W. Norris (Bob), his mother Kay, was very, very fair to others, she was a great listener and didn't judge people.

All Or Nothing with Guest Speaking Coach and Author David Thomas. Looking Back at S2E40.

All Or Nothing with Guest Speaking Coach and Author David Thomas. Looking Back at S2E40.

*As a note of caution, this episode of "Should Have Listened To My Mother," contains graphic content that may be disturbing.
My guest, David Thomas is many things, but modest, he is not. He'd be the first to tell you that he's not modest, he's made mistakes and he's still trying to figure out life. A very successful public speaking coach, a former fireman and a best selling author from Halifax, Yorkshire, England, Thomas did not have an easy childhood. His abusive mother and step-father, did not make things easy, but with time and convictions, he learned that "everything comes down to responsibility- you can't keep blaming other people for your problems. You have to take responsibility for your actions."

Great Times

Jackie is a great host. Listening to interviews about relationships people have with their mother can reveal a lot about who you are and your mother. Jackie has a way of making the whole discussion enjoyable and a delight to share the truth about the person who protected you for the first 9 months of your life and for some the arrival time was sooner.

Mothers and their impact!

What a thoughtful and impactful idea to sit and think about how our mothers have affected us. One of our most important role models in our life journey in one way or BBC another. Love it Jackie. Thank you.
