SHOWGAYS is a sharp-witted, snarky, and stupid podcast about the world of movie-musicals. Adam and RJ break it all down for you: singing nuns, chorus lines, and everything in between.
28 - It's Curtains For Showgays!
Well listeners, we did it again. Not only are we closing the curtains on SHOWGAYS: A Movie Musical Podcast, but we also took 2 months to make this final episode. But we loved doing this show (as sporadic and chaotic it was) and do not fret! We are coming up with new ways to still talk about our favorite pop culture of all time, movie musicals, in a new format and new ways. So make sure you stay tuned to all our social media! That's it from your favorite Showgays - we love ya! Goodbye!

27 - Burlesque
We're back with an all-new episode! This month Adam and RJ are joined by Allie from Harry Potter and the Anxious Millennials to discuss the 2010 hit (?) Burlesque starring Cher and Xtina! We go in on the absurdity of walking in Los Angeles, tear apart the costuming decisions for the ballad Bound to You, and finally figure out whether or not Nikki should drive! Plus, as always, we decide where this film ends up on our massive matrix of good:bad::camp:serious, cast a reimagined version for today's audience, and decide what musical is on the docket for next month!

26 - 1776
This month, the boys are back at it again with a sense of patriotism (kind of) and ready to delve deep into the beloved (?) 1972 musical 1776! We dish on the lack of melodies in every song, the spacing of songs throughout the show, and really get into the nonsense that is this whitewashing of Thomas Jefferson as ingenue! The only way to know if they end up signing the Declaration of Independence is if you listen to the episode - NO SPOILERS PLZ

25 - Cinderella (1997)
Strap on your nicest glass slippers and head to the ball of an episode that is our discussion on Cinderella, the ABC classic from 1997 starring Brandy, Whitney, and Bernadette Peters. Miranda Lee (@themagicalmiranda on instagram) joins Adam and RJ to talk about the Cheesecake Factory cottage they live in, the colorblind casting, and the absolutely iconic use of Whitney Houston flying through the air. Plus, as always, a discussion about the history of the show (including Julie Andrews and Lesley Anne Warren), casting the show today, where this one fits on our graph of bad/good and camp/serious, and a sneak peek into what our next choice is for July!

A gift to the theatre kids, theatre goers, and everyone in between!
This podcast is SO FUN. If you’ve ever loved musicals - even the most popular like wicked, Hamilton, hairspray, etc. - you will enjoy this! You all are so funny and I feel like I’m sitting there talking with you guys! If you don’t much about musicals or movie musicals, they definitely will be the guys to turn to. From the theatre kids who peaked in high school (@ me) THANK YOU
Adam and RJ, great job! Nan told youth group about the Into the Woods episode, and it was so great. I also listened to the Hairspray episode, and was laughing so much, my sister had to ask what was so funny. You guys are really great commentary, and honestly, review some of my favorite musicals. (Please do Little Shop though!🙏🏻🙏🏻We did it for my spring musical this year and I would love to hear your take on it.) Thank you for bringing so much joy and laughter to my otherwise long and boring road trip.
Keep up the good work. 😁
Call me Seth Rudetsky because I'm obsessed

If you love musicals, movies, or happiness, and you're not listening to this podcast, THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU.
